Your Ultimate Bachelorette in Austin, TX Guide

    Mar 23, 2022 · 2 Comments

So you're looking to plan a bachelorette in Austin, TX? Here's everything you'll need to know about planning a weekend getaway to Austin!

This post may contain affiliate links which means I may earn a small commission when you click on the links and make a purchase. I will never recommend a product that I donโ€™t support 100%.

First and foremost, here are some themes for an Austin bachelorette party

    Dazed and Engaged Bachelorette Theme

This spoof off of the movie Dazed and Confused is such a fun bachelorette theme for Austin. Matthew McConaughey teaches at UT, located right in Austin, he lives in the Austin area with his family, and he's a Texas native. This is the theme we went with when we did a mini Bachelorette 2.0 for my friend. Here are some cute details you could add to your Dazed and Engaged theme!

    Last Rodeo Bachelorette Theme

I mean, if you're in Texas... how can you not be tempted to do a last rodeo bachelorette theme?! It's so fun and cute, and you can totally marry it with a bit of Disco Cowgirl flare. Think Kacey Musgraves for style inspo. Here are some must-haves if you're going with this theme for your bachelorette in Austin.

    Final Fiesta Bachelorette

I mean... Tex-Mex... a Final Fiesta theme is so cute for Austin! It's fun and popular, so decorations are nearly endless for you to choose from. Here are some decor ideas to get the ideas flowing.

Where to Stay in Austin for a Bachelorette Party

I think where you stay all depends on the size of your bachelorette party. For example, when I went down to Austin, it was a mini bachelorette. There were only 4 of us, and we ended up staying at the Hilton Austin. We got conjoining rooms and it was so perfect. If you have more than 4 people, I highly recommend some AirBnBs. Nonetheless, here are some hotels and AirBnBs I found!

Here are some of the best places to stay in Austin for a bachelorette party...

When planning on where to stay fo your bachelorette in Austin, TX, it truly depends on the number of people when choosing between hotels and rental homes.

Best Hotels in Austin for Bachelorette Party

    • Hilton Austin - 500 E 4th St, Austin, TX
    • Hyatt Place Downtown - 211 E 3rd St, Austin, TX
    • Thompson Hotel - 506 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX
    • Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown - 604 W 6th St, Austin, TX
    • Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt - 605 Davis St, Austin, TX

    • Exquisite Boutique SoCo Cottage with Shops and Restaurants Nearby
    • Travis Heights Cottage steps from Lady Bird Lake
    • Light-filled Architectural Gem in Travis Heights

When you venture into the downtown area, a lot of the AirBnB results are hotel suites and whatnot, still worth looking at, though!

Now let's talk about things to do in Austin for a bachelorette party.

There is no shortage of bars and restaurants to visit when you're in Austin. But, I feel like when going to a big city, that's expected. Here are some things we did as well as recommendations I've received so you can plan your weekend accordingly.

Where to go to brunch in Austin

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

While Banger's only offers brunch on Sunday, their massive beer garden with communal seating paired with their brunch menu will get your Sunday Funday off to the best start. I mean, they have a Texas Peach Cinnamon Bun...

Address: 79 Rainey St, Austin, TX 78701

    Perla's

Perla's is in the South Congress strip and has an adorable patio under an oak tree. The ambiance looks adorable and if you're going with a group who loves a good seafood restaurant, this is for you.

Address: 1400 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

Brunch reservations are always a must when planning a bachelorette in Austin, TX. Perla's on South Congress is a fan-favorite!
    Image via Perla's on Instagram
    June's

June's is also on that South Congress stretch, they've fused contemporary design with vintage flair (which includes a jukebox) and their food is modern American. Similar to Perla's, they have a patio that makes it the perfect people-watching spot.

Address: 1722 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

    Biderman's Deli

Biderman's Deli is a Jewish-style deli serving fresh bagels, sandwiches and basically anything you'll need to cure an Austin hangover. Because let's face it, a bachelorette in Austin, TX is bound to have a hangover or two.

    Address: 3742 Far W Blvd #101, Austin, TX 78731

    Jacoby's Restaurant and Merchantile

Jacoby's offers "Ranch-to-Table" fare in the Govalle neighborhood of Austin. It's a family-run operation that takes pride in the transparency in where their food is sourced from. They have a stunning patio, and a brunch menu that everyone raves about.

Address: 3235 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702

    Mattie's

Mattie's doubles as a restaurant and event space, and if you Google "where to eat in Austin, TX" I would bet 99.9% of the time Mattie's is on that list. See if you can snag a brunch reservation during your weekend in Austin to soak in the ambiance and indulge yourself with their version of southern brunch classics.

Address: 811 W Live Oak St, Austin, TX 78704

Brunch reservations are always a must when planning a bachelorette in Austin, TX. Mattie's is a girly-girl's photo op haven.

    Hillside Farmacy

Hillside Farmacy is in East Austin and in the 50s the building served as a pharmacy. It's since been mindfully renovated to run as the Hillside Farmacy and has even received a Preservation Austin Award. They offer farm-to-table, hence the play on "farm"-acy.

    Address: 1209 E 11th St, Austin, TX 78702

    Joann's Fine Foods

Joann's is where my friends and I got brunch while exploring the South Congress. It's located in the iconic Austin Motel. It's a retro diner serving Tex-Mex diner food with fun cocktails. Highly recommend going there and if you happen to get a server named Austin, he's the BEST.

Address: 1224 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

    Address: 1315 W 6th St, Austin, TX 78703

    Moonshine

We went to Moonshine the first night, only for drinks, and then ended up going back there on Sunday for brunch since it was a block away from our hotel. Again, it's an old house turned into a cozy, vintage-decorated restaurant with an adorable patio. If you have to wait, head out back to the Patio Bar where you can get some drinks and appetizers while you wait for your table.

Address: 303 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701

    Franklin BBQ

Franklin BBQ is known for its BBQ. Although we never went there during our weekend, whenever we asked anyone about BBQ, they always included Franklin. I absolutely regret not making my way up to this iconic Austin restaurant.

    Address: 900 E 11th St, Austin, TX 78702

If you're looking for places to eat in Austin Texas, you have to visit Franklin's BBQ!
    Image via Franklin BBQ's Instagram
    Matt's El Ranchero

Matt's El Ranchero is in South Austin and they make everything from scratch, including their margaritas they say. Their sign says "King of Mexican food since 1952" so I mean, I think they know what they're doing.

Address: 2613 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704

    Nickel City

Nickel City is located just east of I-35 and right down the street from Franklin BBQ. They're a retro bar with craft cocktails and a super laid-back atmosphere.

    Address: 1133 E 11th St, Austin, TX 78702

    Torchy's Tacos

Torchy's Tacos was probably the most recommended restaurant when I posted on my Instagram asking for recommendations. With locations all around Austin, they're making it pretty easy to try their darn good tacos.

    Address: Multiple Locations

    Salt and Time

Salt and Time, located in East Austin, was the first butcher shop in Austin committed to sourcing whole animals directly from Texas ranchers. They've been operating since 2013, so you can peruse their butcher shop and take a piece of meat home, or you can dine in their restaurant.

    Address: 1912 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78702
