I love this limoncello spritz with prosecco! It's such a fun limoncello cocktail to make at home. It tastes so bright and bubbly, citrusy and sweet, if you're looking for delicious ways to use limoncello, look no further than this recipe!
You'll love this limoncello spritz
It's so crisp and refreshing. With just a few simple ingredients you have a perfectly sweet cocktail, slightly zesty and so refreshing.
It's easy to make. This cocktail is fool-proof, that's why I love spritz cocktails like this limoncello spritz, an Amalfi spritz, or this Lillet spritz. You can't mess them up and you make the perfect drink every time.
It's perfect for any time of year. Don't get me wrong, this is the perfect summer cocktail, but I love a limoncello spritzer in the winter, too! Especially if you make your own limoncello in the winter, lemons are in season so it's the perfect excuse to make this drink.
Ingredients
Limoncello spritzes are such a light drink and once you make this for yourself, and take that first sip, you'll be making these all summer long.
Limoncello. You'll be able to find limoncello at most liquor stores or grocery stores. I really like Trader Joe's limoncello or the Pallini brand.
Prosecco. You'll want prosecco or any sparkling white wine. Because you're mixing it and diluting the taste of the sparkling wine, no need to use a super-expensive bottle of prosecco! I like La Marca, Mionetta, or Costco's prosecco.
Lemon Sparkling Water. You can also use regular club soda like the ever-so-popular Aperol Spritz, but I love the extra hint of bright lemon flavor by using lemon sparkling water.
Thin Lemon Slices. This is such an easy garnish and the lemon will steep in your cocktail giving it another added burst of fresh lemon flavor.
Rosemary Sprigs or Basil Leaves. I like adding a burst of green for a color contrast when garnishing the cocktail. It's easy enough and looks so pretty. Mint leaves also make for a great garnish.
How to make a limoncello spritz
The basic breakdown for this simple cocktail is three parts prosecco to two parts limoncello to one part soda water. Just remember 3-2-1 when making any 3-ingredient spritz recipe!
- Fill wine glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour in 3 oz. of prosecco, 2 oz. of limoncello, and 1 oz. of sparkling water.
- Give it a quick stir, and garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh herbs.
- Cheers!
All about limoncello
If you don't like a classic Aperol spritz, you have to try this limoncello spritz. It's the perfect balance of sweet and just slightly zesty from the lemon, but limoncello isn't bitter at all compared to Aperol. It's like a glass of sunshine!

What is the best way to drink limoncello?
Limoncello first and foremost is great on its own. We store the limoncello in the freezer, so it is always ice cold and ready to drink. If you're out at an Italian restaurant, they normally serve it to you in a shot glass. However, at home, I like to pour a little bit of limoncello over ice and sip on it. It's so good, I don't want to shoot it! I want to sit and enjoy it as an after-dinner drink.

A spritz is a cocktail made with a liqueur, prosecco, and soda water. Aperol Spritzes are probably the most popular spritz recipe you may have heard of, or tried! However, there are so many spritz variations like this delicious limoncello spritz recipe or a Chambord spritz.
Limoncello spritz for a crowd
If you're having a summer party, this limoncello spritz is such a crowd-pleaser. However, since it has carbonated ingredients, I don't recommend making a pitcher of limoncello spritzes. Instead, I recommend putting out all the ingredients for your guests to make their spritzes. This recipe won't hold up great being made in a big batch, but making a spritz bar for your guests is a great way to have everyone enjoy a refreshing limoncello spritz cocktail.
