Where to stay if you're heading to Nascar in Chicago
Hotel Options in the Loop
The Congress Plaza Hotel. This is going to be one of the closest hotels you could get because you're going to be right on the course.
Hilton Chicago. This is just a few steps south of Michigan Ave. and Balboa Dr. turn, but you'll still be right in the action and steps away from Grant Park for easy access to the fest.
Le Méridien Essex Chicago. Similar to The Congress and Hilton, this is right on Michigan Avenue, just steps away from the course and all the happenings.
The Palmer House Chicago. The Palmer House is just one block west of Michigan Avenue across from The Art Institute. It's a great location, and still near all the Chicago Nascar events.
Kimpton Gray Hotel. The Kimpton Gray is right smack dab in the middle of the Loop, so if you're looking to enjoy more than just Nascar in Chicago, you'll be near so many public transportation options and pretty central.
Hotels along the Chicago River
The Chicago River during the summer is one of my favorite spots. If you're looking to stay walking (or a very short Uber) distance away from the Nascar Race in Chicago, these are some great options.
Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel. The Renaissance is right on State and Wacker and is right by the State/Lake L stop, which can easily take you all around the city if you're looking to explore different neighborhoods. Plus, they have a great rooftop bar called Raised.
The Westin Chicago River North. This is on the north side of the river and you'll be along a great strip of bars and restaurants like RPM Italian, River Roast, Barrio, and more.

If you want to enjoy some great Chicago food and drink while visiting for Nascar 2023, here are some of my recommendations.

Best way to get around?
I highly recommend downloading the Ventra app on your smartphone and adding a Ventra card to your Apple Pay! It makes navigating the CTA so easy.
Other fun tourist activities
Museum Campus. You can visit The Field Museum and The Planetarium all within Museum Campus. Note that The Shedd Aquarium is going to be closed.
The Art Institute Chicago. This is right by Grant Park and the race, so if you're looking for a fun, easy to get to museum to visit, The Art Institute is a great choice.
Chicago Architecture Boat Tour. I absolutely love the architecture boat tour (I've done it at least 3 times now) and it never gets old.
The Skydeck or 360 Chicago Observation Deck. The Skydeck is in the Willis Tower and allows you to get a birdseye view of Chicago from 103 stories up. The 360 Chicago Observation Deck is similar, except you can find this at the John Hancock building's 94th floor.
Lincoln Park Zoo. This is a bit further north, but it's a free zoo that has so much to offer! Plus, there were just cubs born, so you can go visit them.
