So you're looking to plan a bachelorette in Austin, TX? Here's everything you'll need to know about planning a weekend getaway to Austin!

This post may contain affiliate links which means I may earn a small commission when you click on the links and make a purchase. I will never recommend a product that I don’t support 100%.

First and foremost, here are some themes for an Austin bachelorette party

    Dazed and Engaged Bachelorette Theme

This spoof off of the movie Dazed and Confused is such a fun bachelorette theme for Austin. Matthew McConaughey teaches at UT, located right in Austin, he lives in the Austin area with his family, and he's a Texas native. This is the theme we went with when we did a mini Bachelorette 2.0 for my friend. Here are some cute details you could add to your Dazed and Engaged theme!

    Last Rodeo Bachelorette Theme

I mean, if you're in Texas... how can you not be tempted to do a last rodeo bachelorette theme?! It's so fun and cute, and you can totally marry it with a bit of Disco Cowgirl flare. Think Kacey Musgraves for style inspo. Here are some must-haves if you're going with this theme for your bachelorette in Austin.

    Final Fiesta Bachelorette

I mean... Tex-Mex... a Final Fiesta theme is so cute for Austin! It's fun and popular, so decorations are nearly endless for you to choose from. Here are some decor ideas to get the ideas flowing.

Where to Stay in Austin for a Bachelorette Party

I think where you stay all depends on the size of your bachelorette party. For example, when I went down to Austin, it was a mini bachelorette. There were only 4 of us, and we ended up staying at the Hilton Austin. We got conjoining rooms and it was so perfect. If you have more than 4 people, I highly recommend some AirBnBs. Nonetheless, here are some hotels and AirBnBs I found!

Here are some of the best places to stay in Austin for a bachelorette party...

When planning on where to stay fo your bachelorette in Austin, TX, it truly depends on the number of people when choosing between hotels and rental homes.

Best Hotels in Austin for Bachelorette Party

    • Hilton Austin - 500 E 4th St, Austin, TX
    • Hyatt Place Downtown - 211 E 3rd St, Austin, TX
    • Thompson Hotel - 506 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX
    • Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown - 604 W 6th St, Austin, TX
    • Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt - 605 Davis St, Austin, TX

    • Exquisite Boutique SoCo Cottage with Shops and Restaurants Nearby
    • Travis Heights Cottage steps from Lady Bird Lake
    • Light-filled Architectural Gem in Travis Heights
    • ★Luxury Condo - Downtown Party District!! ★
    • BoHo Chic SoCo Bungalow with a Backyard & Grill
    • LoCo For SoCo
    East Chavez/East Austin Area
    • Perfect Property in East Cesar Chavez by Lady Bird Lake and Festival Beach
    • New modern 3 story home w/in minutes from Downtown

    • Inviting & historic loft w/private terrace & full kitchen - extremely walkable!!
    • Hip East ATX 3/2 Dwntwn Walk 2 Rainey & Convention

When you venture into the downtown area, a lot of the AirBnB results are hotel suites and whatnot, still worth looking at, though!

Now let's talk about things to do in Austin for a bachelorette party.

There is no shortage of bars and restaurants to visit when you're in Austin. But, I feel like when going to a big city, that's expected. Here are some things we did as well as recommendations I've received so you can plan your weekend accordingly.

    Cute coffee shops in Austin

    Jo's Coffee

Jo's Coffee has three locations around Austin. Downtown, Red River and South Congress. They have the iconic "I love you so much" mini-mural that you may or may not have seen across your social channels.

    Downtown Address: 242 W 2nd St, Austin, TX 78701

Red River Address: 1000 E 41st St, Austin, TX 78751

South Congress Address: 1300 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

    Wright Bros. Brew and Brew

Wright Bros. Brew and Brew is located just east of the highway and has an industrial vibe while offering coffee, craft beer and some food like sandwiches and light bites. Perfect for any time of day!

    Fleet Coffee Co.

Fleet Coffee Co. is a super cozy and quaint coffee shop in East Austin, TX, if you want to venture further into East Austin, stop by Fleet Coffee Co. for a morning or midday pick-me-up.

    Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden

Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden is located in South Austin, this is another coffee and craft beer spot. They have live music, food trucks and ample outdoor seating to soak in the Texas Sun.

    Radio Coffee and Beer

Similar to Cosmic Coffee + Beer, Radio Coffee and Beer is located in South Austin and has the combination of coffee and beer with a beautiful beer garden.

Where to go to brunch in Austin

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

While Banger's only offers brunch on Sunday, their massive beer garden with communal seating paired with their brunch menu will get your Sunday Funday off to the best start. I mean, they have a Texas Peach Cinnamon Bun...

    Perla's

Perla's is in the South Congress strip and has an adorable patio under an oak tree. The ambiance looks adorable and if you're going with a group who loves a good seafood restaurant, this is for you.

    June's

June's is also on that South Congress stretch, they've fused contemporary design with vintage flair (which includes a jukebox) and their food is modern American. Similar to Perla's, they have a patio that makes it the perfect people-watching spot.

    Biderman's Deli

Biderman's Deli is a Jewish-style deli serving fresh bagels, sandwiches and basically anything you'll need to cure an Austin hangover. Because let's face it, a bachelorette in Austin, TX is bound to have a hangover or two.

    Jacoby's Restaurant and Mercantile

Jacoby's offers "Ranch-to-Table" fare in the Govalle neighborhood of Austin. It's a family-run operation that takes pride in the transparency in where their food is sourced from. They have a stunning patio, and a brunch menu that everyone raves about.

    Mattie's

Mattie's doubles as a restaurant and event space, and if you Google "where to eat in Austin, TX" I would bet 99.9% of the time Mattie's is on that list. See if you can snag a brunch reservation during your weekend in Austin to soak in the ambiance and indulge yourself with their version of southern brunch classics.

    Hillside Farmacy

Hillside Farmacy is in East Austin and in the 50s the building served as a pharmacy. It's since been mindfully renovated to run as the Hillside Farmacy and has even received a Preservation Austin Award. They offer farm-to-table, hence the play on "farm"-acy.

    Joann's Fine Foods

Joann's is where my friends and I got brunch while exploring the South Congress. It's located in the iconic Austin Motel. It's a retro diner serving Tex-Mex diner food with fun cocktails. Highly recommend going there and if you happen to get a server named Austin, he's the BEST.

Joann's Fine Foods, located in the iconic Austin Motel is a great option for brunch when planning your bachelorette party in Austin, TX!
    Image via Joann's on Instagram
    Bar Peached

Bar Peached is, like many other Austin bars and restaurants, an old home totally remodeled and turned into a bar/restaurant with a beer garden. They serve tacos along with Asian-inspired food with an ample bar menu.

    Moonshine

We went to Moonshine the first night, only for drinks, and then ended up going back there on Sunday for brunch since it was a block away from our hotel. Again, it's an old house turned into a cozy, vintage-decorated restaurant with an adorable patio. If you have to wait, head out back to the Patio Bar where you can get some drinks and appetizers while you wait for your table.

Other trendy restaurants in Austin you should try

    Emmer & Rye

Emmer & Rye is located right on Rainey Street. Described as "warehouse-chic" they're serving farm-to-table dishes and the ingredients they use are so fresh, their menu changes daily.

    Franklin BBQ

Franklin BBQ is known for its BBQ. Although we never went there during our weekend, whenever we asked anyone about BBQ, they always included Franklin. I absolutely regret not making my way up to this iconic Austin restaurant.

If you're looking for places to eat in Austin Texas, you have to visit Franklin's BBQ!
    Image via Franklin BBQ's Instagram
    Matt's El Ranchero

Matt's El Ranchero is in South Austin and they make everything from scratch, including their margaritas they say. Their sign says "King of Mexican food since 1952" so I mean, I think they know what they're doing.

Address: 2613 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704

    Nickel City

Nickel City is located just east of I-35 and right down the street from Franklin BBQ. They're a retro bar with craft cocktails and a super laid-back atmosphere.

    Torchy's Tacos

Torchy's Tacos was probably the most recommended restaurant when I posted on my Instagram asking for recommendations. With locations all around Austin, they're making it pretty easy to try their darn good tacos.

    Salt and Time

Salt and Time, located in East Austin, was the first butcher shop in Austin committed to sourcing whole animals directly from Texas ranchers. They've been operating since 2013, so you can peruse their butcher shop and take a piece of meat home, or you can dine in their restaurant.

    Clarks Oyster Bar

Clark's Oyster Bar truly feels like a little slice of the nautical east coast vibes brought down to Austin. It's an upscale seafood restaurant on W 6th Street that's chic and super trendy.

    LeRoy and Lewis

LeRoy and Lewis is in south Austin on Pickle Road... I mean I just love that there's a road named Pickle. It's a food truck with a killer picnic table patio set up.

    Veracruz All Natural™️

Veracruz All Natural is a family, Latina and woman-run business founded in 2008. They're dishing out authentic Mexican cuisine, juices and smoothies throughout their 5 Austin locations.

    Home Slice

Home Slice Pizza is New York-style pizza in Austin, TX... so I mean if you want to go the route of eating all the Tex-Mex possible... maybe Home Slice isn't for you.

    Breweries in Austin

    Austin Beerworks

Austin Beerworks, aside from having a taproom and a food truck, they offer tours and tastings, too.

    Zilker Brewing Company and Taproom

Zilker Brewing is known for its seasonal releases and patio, food truck included.

If you're planning a bachelorette in ATX, you have to check out some of their breweries!
    Image via Zilker Brewing
    Lazarus Brewing Co.

Lazarus Brewing Co.'s tagline is literally "Coffee. Beer. Tacos. Enjoy!" If that doesn't make you want to spend an afternoon there, I'm not sure what will.

    Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.

Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. offers their microbrews alongside bar food like pizza and they always have a lineup of events and live music happening.

    Central District Brewing Co.

Central District Brewing Co. is located right next to the Austin Convention Center making it a convenient spot to grab drinks if you have an event there, or near downtown.

    Hold Out Brewing

Hold Out Brewing is located on W 4th Street, just two blocks south of W 6th street. So, it could be fun to spend the afternoon at Hold Out Brewing and then pop up to W 6th Street for the night.

If you're planning a bachelorette in ATX, you have to check out some of their breweries!
    Blue Owl Brewing

Blue Owl Brewing is an all sour brewery in East Austin. It's located by some of these other breweries, so if you're looking to brewery hop, head over to East Austin to enjoy the day!

    Wine Tours in Austin

I mean, you're not going to Napa Valley, but Austin does have a winery tour that you could opt for if you're going to Austin with some winos.

    Pedal Pubs in Austin

I love doing pedal pubs when you go somewhere. they're always so much fun! Here are some pedal pubs in Austin for your bachelorette party.

    • Austin Bar Bike - this is the one we did while in Austin, we did this one because you can buy individual seats if you have a party that doesn't take up all 15 seats on the bar bike. It was so fun being on a bike with different groups and making new friends.
