I love this limoncello spritz with prosecco! It's such a fun limoncello cocktail to make at home. It tastes so bright and bubbly, citrusy and sweet, if you're looking for delicious ways to use limoncello, look no further than this recipe!0
You'll love this limoncello spritz
It's so crisp and refreshing. With just a few simple ingredients, you have a perfectly sweet cocktail.
It's easy to make. This cocktail is fool-proof, that's why I love spritz cocktails. With the 3-2-1 rule, you can make the perfect spritz every time.
It's perfect for any time of year. Don't get me wrong, this is the perfect summer cocktail, but I love a limoncello spritzer in the winter, too!
Ingredients
Limoncello. You'll be able to find limoncello at most liquor stores or grocery stores. I really like Trader Joe's limoncello or the Pallini brand.
Prosecco. You'll want prosecco or any sparkling white wine. Because you're mixing it and diluting the taste of the sparkling wine, no need to use a super-expensive bottle of prosecco! I like La Marca, Mionetta, or Costco's prosecco.
Soda Water. Like any spritz recipe, you always follow it up with a splash of soda water.
How to make a limoncello spritz
The basic breakdown for this simple cocktail is three parts prosecco to two parts limoncello to one part soda water. Just remember 3-2-1 when making any 3-ingredient spritz recipe!
- Fill wine glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour in 3 oz. of prosecco, 2 oz. of limoncello, and 1 oz. of sparkling water.
- Give it a quick stir, and garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh herbs.
- Cheers!
What is limoncello?
Limoncello is an Italian liqueur made with lemon zest, simple syrup, and alcohol. It originated from the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. It makes for a great cocktail mixer, particularly for an Italian cocktail that calls for simple syrup and a citrus flavor. You can also just pour it over ice and enjoy it by itself!
Where to buy limoncello?
Limoncello can be found nearly anywhere that sells liquor! I am a fan favorite of Trader Joe's Limoncello or Pallini Limoncello. After drinking limoncello for years, you learn what you like and what you don't like, and then you narrow down what limoncello brands are your favorite. I highly recommend starting with either of those two limoncello brands, which are always. a favorite.
Limoncello spritz for a crowd
If you're having a summer party, this limoncello spritz is such a crowd-pleaser. However, since it has carbonated ingredients, I don't recommend making a pitcher of limoncello spritzes. Instead, I recommend putting out all the ingredients for your guests to make their spritzes. This recipe won't hold up great being made in a big batch, but making a spritz bar for your guests is a great way to have everyone enjoy a refreshing limoncello spritz cocktail.
