You'll love this peach bourbon smash cocktail.

It's easy to make. Homemade peach tea is so easy to make ahead of time so you can easily make this peach bourbon smash whenever you want it!

It's so refreshing. It's the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and summery.

    Homemade unsweetened peach iced tea

So, there truly is nothing to this homemade peach iced tea recipe. I have loose-leaf peach tea right now that I brew in this tea/cold brew maker I bought off Amazon.

If I want to sweeten it a teeny tiny bit, I will dissolve about a spoonful of honey in hot water and pour it into my tea maker before steeping it.

Seriously. Nothing crazy. Just some peach tea and a cold brew maker and I'm obsessed. Like, super obsessed.

    What is a smash cocktail?

A smash cocktail is a type of julep. It combines a spirit (like bourbon), sugar, and mint (or other herbs.) This peach bourbon smash combines bourbon, sweetened peach tea, and basil. However, you can use other herbs like mint, rosemary, or thyme.

    Ingredients for bourbon peach smash

    • Peach Tea: I make mine with loose-leaf peach tea, you can make yours however you want. Minimalist Baker has a recipe for The Perfect Peach Tea if you want to make it homemade. Or, just buy pre-made peach tea from your local grocery store! You do you, whatever you like best.
    • Bourbon: I chose bourbon, but you can add in your favorite whiskey, rye or whatever whiskey-type liquor you like!
    • Peaches: I added fresh peaches just for fun. I like to have fruit with certain cocktails, the peaches soak up all the liquor and goodness and it's a nice lil snack.
    • Basil: I chose basil as a garnish if you're looking to get fancy and garnish your cocktails. You could also muddle the basil into the drink for that fresh, herby flavor.
    • Lemon: This is optional, and I did not choose to do this. You can also add in some lemon to make a peach lemon tea and then garnish with a lemon slice.
    • Honey: I don't love my drinks super sweet, and I already sweeten my peach tea with a drizzle of honey dissolved in hot water. You can certainly add a touch of honey if you like super sweet cocktails.

How to make this peach bourbon smash
