I opted to make the Purple Rain cocktail with blue curacao, lemonade, grenadine, and vodka. The saturation of the blue curacao and grenadine makes it such a beautiful purple.

Purple Rain cocktail ingredients.

Here's what you'll need to make this Purple Rain cocktail.

Vodka. I like Van Gogh Vodka, but you can use whatever is your favorite!

Lemonade. I always prefer Simply Lemonade, but you can use whatever brand you like or is on sale.

Grenadine. If you do not have grenadine for your home bar, I promise, you will use it!

Blue Curacao. This is not your average cocktail ingredient, but luckily, it isn't expensive, and you can make fun tropical drinks once you add this to your home bar.

According to my research, it's called the Purple Rain because when you add the grenadine last, it mixes with the blue curacao, but also sinks to the bottom of your drink. It literally rains purple.

How to make this cocktail.

1. In a cocktail shaker, add your vodka, lemonade, grenadine and blue curacao.
2. Add ice and shake until frosted.
3. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
4. Garnish with a lemon.
