You'll love this Lambrusco Spritz
It's easy to make. This is such a fun twist on a summer spritz recipe that is so easy to make.
It's customizable. Don't like tequila? No problem! I included some substitutions below.
Ingredients
Lambrusco Wine. Lambrusco is a sparking wine from Italy. It's made from grapes from the Lambrusco region of Italy. Like most wine, it's flavor depends on the exact grapes it was made with, but overall, I'd say it is a sweeter sparkling wine. That is why I like to cut the sweetness with tequila, but you can also use other liqueurs. I've included some substitutions below!
Blanco Tequila. Like most mixed tequila recipes, I prefer to use blanco tequila.
Fresh Orange Juice. I love adding a bit of orange juice for a bit of fresh flavor and also to give a different level of sweetness.
Club Soda. A classic spritz formula always calls for a splash of club soda or seltzer water.
How to make a Lambrusco spritz
- In a large wine glass filled with ice, add 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of fresh orange juice, 3 oz Lambrusco, and 1 oz of club soda.
- Give it a stir, garnish, and cheers!
If you don't finish your bottle of bubbly, you need this champagne saver in your life! It's the best!
Substitutions and variations
Citrus Juice. You can use fresh grapefruit juice or fresh lime juice if you don't have orange juice! Both are welcomed substitutes.
Tequila. You don't have to make this with tequila! In fact, you can swap out Lambrusco for Aperol, Campari, Elderflower Liqueur, or vodka.
Garnish ideas
- Orange Slice or Orange Wheel
- Olives - this might seem strange, but a common garnish for Lambrusco Spritzes are green olives!
- Grapefruit or lime wheel, if you used that instead of orange juice
