Attention all pickle lovers, you absolutely need this dill pickle ranch dressing in your life. It is so easy to make homemade and it's the perfect twist on the traditional ranch dressing recipe.

You’ll love this dill pickle ranch dressing

It's so easy to make. With a few ingredients, you can get this perfect creamy dressing that has the perfect dill pickle flavor mixed with ranch. You'll want to be making this homemade ranch dressing variation constantly.

It's delicious. If you are a pickle fan like me, you will LOVE this dill pickle salad dressing. It has the perfect amount of dill pickle and ranch flavor.

It's perfect for (almost) anything. This ranch dip can go with a tray of fresh veggies full of cherry tomatoes, carrots, and more, or it is the perfect dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or chicken wings, or you can make this for pasta salads! You'll want to make this for your next party or just to keep in your fridge for an easy snack.

    Ingredients

With only 4 ingredients you can make this dill pickle ranch dressing that will be a big hit, no matter who and how you serve it.

Greek Yogurt. I like to use nonfat Greek yogurt for this recipe. It still gives you that tangy flavor but with some added health benefits! If you don't like Greek yogurt, you can use sour cream.

Light Mayo. Mayo is a must for this ranch dill pickle dip! It gives it that extra creamy texture that is essential for homemade dressings. You can use whatever mayo you prefer, I opted for light mayo.

Ranch Seasoning. I have a container of ranch seasoning in my spice cabinet. I recommend just buying ranch seasoning mix and keeping it for all the ranch recipes, especially if your love of ranch is at a Midwestern level. If you are a Hidden Valley Ranch snob, they also sell ranch seasoning!

Dill Pickle Brine. Grab your pickle jar and add in some of the pickle brine. It's essential for this pickle juice ranch dressing.

How to make dill pickle ranch dressing

    1. In a large bowl, mix together your Greek yogurt, light mayo, ranch seasoning, and dill pickle juice.
    2. Mix until well combined, and then store in an airtight container, like a mason jar, in the fridge.
    3. For best results, let the dressing sit in the fridge for 24 hours before serving.

    Homemade ranch seasoning

Yes, you can make your own ranch seasoning. I personally don't think it's worth the effort, especially given that ranch seasoning is so readily available.

    • 1 teaspoon dried chives
    • 2 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon mustard powder

I like to keep things as simple as possible, so I would advise to just buy some ranch dressing mix! There isn't much flavor difference between homemade vs. store-bought in this case.

Is making your own ranch cheaper?

It is! Homemade ranch dressing is more cost-efficient and it also is easy to make. Plus, the ingredients you use can be repurposed in other recipes. Greek yogurt or sour cream can be used for your next taco night, ranch seasoning mix can be used to season chicken or pork chops, and pickles can be used for a delicious snack!

Your dollars definitely go further with buying the ingredients to make homemade ranch.

    Substitutions and Variations

Buttermilk. If you want a thinner ranch, go ahead and add a few tablespoons of buttermilk until it has reached your desired consistency.

Fresh Dill. If you really want to hone in on that fresh flavor of dill, add some chopped dill weed to this recipe! It is a great way to add more dill flavor.

Sour Cream. I prefer to use Greek yogurt, but you can also use sour cream.

Pickles. Use whatever your favorite pickles are! Whether you like sweet pickles, butter pickles, spicy pickles or dill pickles, make this to your liking.

Cream Cheese. If you want to make this into a thicker cold dip, you can use cream cheese. It'll still give you that tangy dill pickle ranch flavor, but it's better for a dip recipe.

Store-Bought Ranch. You can totally use store-bought ranch and add in dill pickle juice.

Chopped Pickles. If you really want that pickle crunch, take some pickles chop the up, and add them in!

    Storage

You'll want to be sure to store this homemade dill pickle ranch dressing in an airtight container.

How long can I store homemade ranch dressing in the fridge?

Homemade ranch dressing can last for up to 2 weeks in a well-sealed container.

    homemade dill pickle ranch.

Why is homemade ranch so much better?

You use fresh dairy! When you are buying a store-bought ranch, that dressing has been sitting, at room temperature, for however long. When you make homemade ranch dressing, you are able to use fresh dairy and it makes all the difference.

    FAQ

What's the difference between dill and kosher dill pickles?

Kosher dill pickles have garlic where dill pickles do not!

Is store-bought ranch dressing mix low carb?

It is! It is great for all sorts of lifestyles.
