Christmas Cosmopolitan

This Christmas cosmopolitan is one of the easiest holiday drinks to make! Plus, I love adding a splash of prosecco on top to give it that twist and turn your traditional cosmo cocktail recipe into a bubbly and festive one.

It's easy to make. This drink is so easy to make! All you need is a few simple ingredients, a splash of prosecco and that's it!

It's a festive twist on the traditional Cosmopolitan. I love the little bubbly topper, it's so fun and festive! It's the perfect thing to turn your cosmo into a Christmas Cosmopolitan. 

It's perfect for holiday parties. This is super easy to make as a large batch cocktail for all your holiday parties!

Ingredients

Vodka. Just use plain vodka for this one! I typically have Smirnoff or Tito's stocked on my home bar. 

Triple Sec. You can use triple sec or any other orange liquor, like Cointreau. 

Lime Juice. Fresh is always best! I love using this citrus squeezer for cocktails. 

Cranberry Juice. Be sure to use cranberry juice cocktail for this recipe! 

Prosecco. Just a splash of your favorite prosecco, or any dry sparkling white wine, will do the trick! 

How to make Christmas Cosmopolitan

  1. To a cocktail shaker, add your vodka, triple sec, lime juice, and cranberry juice.
  2. Add ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a martini glass.
  4. Top with a splash of prosecco, and enjoy!

Substitutions and variations

Pomegranate Juice. You can always sub out the cranberry juice cocktail for pomegranate juice! It's similar in color and still tastes plenty festive. 

Flavored Vodka. If you'd like, you can always use a citrus vodka if you want to add a bit more zing. 

Soda Water. If you don't love prosecco, you can still get that bubbly effect by adding a splash! 

Orange Juice. If you don't have lime juice, you can add a splash of orange juice!

How to make a big batch of this Christmas Cosmopolitan

This makes a batch of 8-10 cocktails!

  1. In a large pitcher, combine 2 ½ cups of vodka, ⅔ cups of triple sec, ⅔ cups of lime juice, and 1 ¾ oz of cranberry juice.
  2. Once ready to serve, add 4 ½ oz of this mix to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake.
  3. Strain into a martini glass and top with prosecco.
  4. Garnish and cheers!
