If you love an espresso martini recipe, but are looking for a St. Patrick's Day twist, you'll love this Irish espresso martini.
You'll love this Irish espresso martini
It's easy to make. This Irish espresso martini is a fun twist on the classic espresso martini! It's so easy to make and a lovely Irish cocktail recipe to kick off your St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
It's perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Irish whiskey and Irish cream is the perfect cocktail ingredients to turn an espresso martini into a St. Patrick's Day cocktail. This is one of my favorite cocktail recipes for March, and I'm sure you'll love it, too!
Ingredients
Espresso. I use a Nespresso machine to make my espresso, but there's so many different ways that you can make it! You can use an espresso machine, Moka Pot, brew very strong coffee, or use cold brew concentrate.
Irish Whiskey. Of course, you need Irish whiskey! I used Jameson in this Irish coffee espresso martini recipe, but you can use whatever your favorite Irish whiskey is.
Coffee Liqueur. Coffee liqueur is a must in any espresso martini recipe!
Irish Cream Liqueur. I use Bailey's Irish Cream in this recipe and don't really think any other Irish cream liqueurs hold up to Bailey's! You could get fun and use a flavored Bailey's, too.
Coffee Beans. You need three beans to top off your Irish espresso martini! It's an absolute must, even if you're making this at home.
How to make an Irish espresso martini
- Add 1.5 oz whiskey, 1 shot of espresso, 1 oz of coffee liqueur, and 1 oz of Irish cream liqueur to a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain into a martini glass and top with 3 espresso beans.
Substitutions and variations
Whiskey. If you don't love whiskey, that's ok! If you want to stick to the "Irish" theme of the cocktail, you can always use an Irish vodka like Boru.
Simple Syrup. If you like a bit sweeter of an espresso martini recipe, I recommend adding ½ oz of simple syrup to this cocktail.
Ice Coffee. You can turn this into an iced coffee recipe by simply making this cocktail over ice! It's a great option if you want something over ice.
