You'll love these air fryer crescent rolls
They turn out perfectly every time. The air fryer will give you some of the most delicious crescent rolls. They cook so perfectly, you'll love making them.
They're so easy to make. Just roll, air fry, and serve! Air fryer crescent rolls are so easy to make.
They're the perfect side dish. I love pairing these with some of my favorite comfort meals like this homemade Dutch oven chicken noodle soup, pesto-crusted salmon, or air fryer BBQ chicken.
Ingredients
Canned Crescent Rolls. One can of crescent rolls gives you 8 rolls, and you have to put these in a single layer when placing them into your air fryer basket. That may mean that you have to make multiple batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. You can go with the traditional Pillsbury brand, or you can see what different brands you like best for canned crescent rolls.
Non-Stick Cooking Oil Spray. To make sure these air fryer crescent rolls don't stick, I recommend spraying the basket with non-stick spray.
How to make air fryer crescent rolls
- Preheat the air fryer to 330F, if your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, let it run at 330F for 3 minutes.
- While the air fryer is preheating, roll your crescent rolls.
- Once all the crescents are rolled, spray your air fryer basket.
- Place the rolls in one by one arranging them with enough space to cook.
- If you have to do multiple batches, that's ok! You'd rather leave enough room than cram them into the air fryer basket and have them cook unevenly.
- Cook at 330F for 6-8 minutes, mine cooked in 7.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Note: depending on the brand and the size of your air fryer, the cooking time may vary.
Tips for making air fryer crescent rolls
Don’t overcrowd. You want them to be able to have room to evenly cook. Remember the air fryer cooks by circulating air, so you want to make sure there is room for the air to do its magic.
Don’t stack them. Again, back to my point about overcrowding. It is best if you have to make multiple batches rather than stacking or putting them too close to one another.
Keep an eye on them - Every air fryer cooks differently. I recommend cooking for 6 minutes and checking on them. The crescent rolls pictured were cooked at 330F for 7 minutes.
Substitutions and variations
There are so many fun air fryer crescent roll recipes, here are a few of my favorites to take your rolls to the next level.
Seasonings. You can sprinkle herbs or seasonings on top of your crescent roll dough before baking like garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, or cinnamon sugar.
Peanut Butter and Nutella Crescent Rolls. Place a dollop of both peanut butter and Nutella on the wide bar of the crescent roll triangle. Roll into the crescent shape and you have yourself a delicious sweet treat.
Pizza Rolls. You can easily make pizza rolls with crescent dough. Place a little bit of red sauce, a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni (optional) on the wide part of the crescent roll triangle. Carefully roll into the crescent shape and it's the perfect snack or appetizer.
Chocolate Chips or Chocolate Bars. If you want faux air fryer chocolate croissants, you can add chocolate chips or chocolate bar pieces to the wide part of the crescent roll triangle. Carefully roll into the crescent shape and they are so delicious, you'll be hooked.
Non-Stick Cooking Spray. If you want to use melted butter or olive oil instead of non-stick cooking spray, that's an easy way to add more flavor.
Garlic Butter Rolls. If you want extra buttery rolls with lots of garlic flavor, you can make garlic butter and spread that on top of the rolls.
Storing and reheating
Store any leftover crescent rolls in an airtight container on your kitchen counter for 3-4 days. They are ok to keep at room temperature if they are cooked! If you want to reheat them to have hot crescent rolls, you can air fry them at 300F for 2-3 minutes.
What to serve with air fryer crescent rolls
You can serve air fryer crescent rolls with almost all your favorite dinners like brats in the air fryer, air fryer pistachio-crusted salmon, homemade Dutch oven chicken noodle soup, or this sausage and rice casserole.
