Fresh Strawberries. I like to use fresh strawberries and muddle them into a strawberry puree. However, if you'd rather make a strawberry simple syrup, I included instructions below. PS - if you want another fresh strawberry cocktail, try this strawberry mojito!
Fresh Lemon Juice. You need fresh lemons for this recipe. It makes all the difference when making this delicious strawberry lemon drop.
Simple Syrup. If you use fresh strawberries and fresh lemon juice, I recommend adding a dash of simple syrup to offset the sourness of the lemon juice. It creates the perfect balance.
Vodka. I like to use plain vodka for this recipe and let the flavors of the fresh fruit shine.
Triple Sec. Triple sec is an orange liqueur that is an ingredient in a lot of cocktail and martini recipes! I recommend always keeping a bottle on your bar cart.

Substitutions and variations
Strawberry Simple Syrup. If you don't want to deal with straining and making a strawberry puree, you can easily make a strawberry simple syrup! Combine equal parts water and sugar, and let the sugar dissolve over medium heat. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat, and add in fresh chopped strawberries. Let that steep for one hour, strain into a jar and you have strawberry simple syrup! For this recipe, use ½ oz. of strawberry simple syrup.
Lemon Vodka. If you want to add some extra lemon flavor to all your homemade lemon drop martinis, you can use lemon vodka to make this such a refreshing cocktail.
