Festive Mistletoe Martini Cocktail with Vodka

It's easy to make. If you're looking for festive drinks that are easy to make, this is the perfect cocktail for that! With a few simple ingredients, a cocktail shaker, and your favorite martini glass, you can have this cocktail made in no time. 

It's delicious. The flavors of cranberry juice mixed with orange juice is perfect for holiday parties! Plus, the winter is citrus season, so take advantage of in-season produce! 

It's an easy batch cocktail recipe. Because there is nothing carbonated in this drink, it's a super easy cocktail to pre-make before your holiday party to have ready to serve your guests upon arrival. 

Ingredients

Cranberry Juice. I prefer to use cranberry juice cocktail. However, if you use pure cranberry juice, I recommend adding a splash of simple syrup for sweetness. 

Orange. I like using fresh orange juice in this cocktail recipe, it's a great way to take advantage of in-season produce and add a layer of freshness and hint of citrus to this cranberry mistletoe martini. 

Triple Sec. Triple sec is an orange liqueur. You can also use Grand Marnier if you have that on your bar cart, too! 

Vodka. I like making this cocktail with vodka, but I've included some other options, below.

How to make this mistletoe martini

This delicious cocktail is so easy to make, and it tastes like Christmas in a martini. 

1. In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz. vodka, .5 oz triple sec, .5 oz orange juice, and 3 oz cranberry juice.
2. Add ice, and shake until the shaker is frosted.
3. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
4. Garnish and cheers.

Garnish ideas

Here are some fun garnish ideas for this mistletoe martini, because even if you are making these at home, you still need a fun garnish! You don't have to be at a cocktail bar to sip on a garnished cocktail.

• Sprig of Rosemary
• Fresh Cranberries
• Orange Wheel, or dehydrated orange wheel

If you want festive ways to really elevate your garnishes, you can dip a fresh rosemary sprig or cranberries in water and then dip them in white sugar for all the Christmas vibes. They look like they are coated with snow and are just adorable garnishes for this time of year.

How to make this as a batched cocktail

Since this doesn't include any carbonated ingredients, this is a perfect holiday cocktail to make for your next party. This makes 10 cocktails.

1. In a large pitcher, add 2.5 cups of vodka, 5 oz triple sec, 5 oz orange juice, and 3 ¾ cups cranberry juice. 
2. Stir well and place in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
3. Once ready to serve, pour a 6 oz serving into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 
4. Shake well and strain into your martini glass. 
5. Garnish and enjoy! 

You can easily set this up as a martini bar for your guests so you aren't stuck mixing these drinks all night! I recommend placing the pitcher, martini glasses, a cocktail shaker, an ice bucket, and garnishes on a tabletop. 

Substitutions and variations

Liquor. You can easily make this for your next holiday party with a liquor other than vodka. You can easily make this with bourbon, tequila (to make this mistletoe margarita!), gin, or cranberry vodka. 

Citrus. If you don't have orange juice you can always use fresh lemon juice or lime juice. 

Triple Sec. If you don't have or like triple sec, you can add elderflower liquor or even Aperol to this mistletoe martini! 

Pomegranate Juice.​ If you don't like cranberry juice or you don't have any, you can absolutely use pomegranate juice!
