Ingredients
With a few simple ingredients, you can easily make this gin mule whenever you're craving one!
Dry Gin. I recommend using a dry gin, but if you're unsure on what brand to use or stock your bar cart with, here are a few of my favorites: Hendrick's Gin, Farmer's Gin, Bombay Sapphire Gin, or Tanqueray Gin.
Fresh Lime Juice. Fresh lime juice is a must in any mule recipe! I recommend using fresh lime juice as opposed to concentrated lime juice. Nothing compares to fresh lime juice.
Mint Leaves. Like fresh lime juice, mint is a must for Moscow mules!
Ginger Beer. I like using diet ginger beer, but you can use whatever ginger beer you have or whatever brand you like! Two of my favorites are Q and FeverTree.
The traditional Moscow mule combines vodka, fresh lime juice, fresh mint, and ginger beer. There are so many variations with mule cocktails, and they are all so delicious!

Do moscow mules have to be served in a copper mug?
First, the copper acts as an insulator ensuring your drink stays cold for as long as possible. Second, some people say that copper mugs enhances the flavor of the cocktail's ingredients. The copper begins to oxidize when the vodka is poured in, making the flavors a bit more elevated. So, yes, a fancy copper mug is necessary!
