It's refreshing. This drink is light, crisp and so full of flavor! It isn't too heavy or sugary, I love the balance of all the flavors.
It's easy to make. This tequila spritzer recipe couldn't be easier to make! No mixing, just a few measurements, stirring, garnishing, and you've got yourself a refreshing cocktail.
You can prepare most of it in advance! The majority of this tequila cocktail is non-carbonated, meaning you can prep this in advance if you want to make this for a party! I recommend prepping all of your ingredients, except the club soda, and then leaving the club soda out next to the pitcher or dispenser. Then, when your guests serve themselves a drink, they can top it with club soda for that spritz effect.
Ingredients
Watermelon Juice. In case you didn't know, making your own watermelon juice is SO easy! Chop up some fresh watermelon, throw it in a blender, and then pour it through a fine mesh strainer. You have homemade watermelon juice just like that!
Lime Juice. I always say fresh lime juice is a MUST! The fake lime juice just ruins a cocktail, in my opinion.
Tequila. I always prefer to use blanco, or silver tequila, for mixed tequila cocktails. The Blanco is unaged, so it has those citrus notes and is a great blank canvas to build your cocktail on!
Soda Water. What makes this a tequila spritzer is the splash of soda water on top! Of course, you need a bit of fizz. You can also add a healthy splash of mineral water on top, too!
You may be wondering how this is any different from a classic margarita recipe, and that's fair! A margarita recipe has the addition of triple sec, agave nectar, and omits soda water. This is super similar to a margarita, but a bit more of a simple cocktail.
