You'll love these Skrewball cocktails for the holidays
They're easy to make. These are both such great recipes that come together in no time, especially when playing bartender for a lot of people, and can be served quickly at any holiday party.
They're so festive. I mean, a boozy eggnog and a salty-sweet twist on a classic old fashioned? It tastes like all the best parts of the holidays in two fun and festive cocktails.
They're delicious. These delicious cocktails will be such a hit, whether you're hosting a cozy holiday night in or a holiday soiree, even non-whiskey drinkers will love these drinks.
What is Skrewball Whiskey?
Skrewball is the original peanut butter whiskey, it's a little salty, a little sweet, a little savory and so smooth. I love this flavored whiskey. It perfectly balances the nutty peanut butter flavor with whiskey, and even if you aren't a whiskey drinker... I bet you'll love Skrewball. I always have a bottle of Skrewball on my bar cart at home! It's great as a shot, drinking neat or over ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. It doesn't need to mix with much to make a decadent drink, here are two of my favorite cocktails for the holiday season.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggnog Tini Ingredients
With three simple ingredients, this peanut butter whiskey recipe comes together so easily.
Skrewball Eggnog. Skrewball doesn't just carry their peanut butter whiskey, they've also created an eggnog! You get that nutty flavor but in eggnog form. It's so perfect for the holidays.
Chocolate Liqueur. You can use whatever chocolate liqueur you prefer, and if you don't have any, I included some substitutions below!
Heavy Cream. Just so this cocktail isn't all alcohol, I like to cut it with a bit of heavy cream. You can always use milk if you don't have heavy cream handy.
Peanut Butter Old Fashioned Ingredients
This is such an easy drink to make for a crowd! I'm taking all the main ingredients of a classic old fashioned and tweaking them just a bit to make the perfect dessert cocktail.
Skrewball Whiskey. We're taking the classic cocktail and turning it into the perfectly sweet holiday old fashioned, and we're using Skrewball as our base.
Orange Juice. A little bit of fresh orange juice adds a level of freshness to this old fashioned that just takes it to the next level. It may seem like an odd ingredient, but trust me!
Ginger Ale. I like to top the old fashioned with a splash of ginger ale. If this drink is perfectly sweet for you without the ginger ale, I've included some substitutions below for you!
Bitters. Like any old fashioned recipe, bitters are a must! I use classic bitters.
How to make the Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggnog Tini
- In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Skrewball Eggnog, 1 oz chocolate liqueur, and 1 oz of heavy cream.
- Add ice cubes and shake vigorously for 1 minute.
- Strain into a martini glass, or a coupe glass, and enjoy!
How to make the batched Peanut Butter Old Fashioned
This batched cocktail makes 8-10 servings, perfect for your holiday parties!
- In a large pitcher, add 2.5 cups of Skrewball, ¼ cup orange juice, and 16-20 dashes of bitters.
- When you're ready to serve, pour 3.5 - 4 oz into a rocks glass, or cocktail glass, over a large ice cube.
- Top with ginger ale and enjoy!
Tip: To make this cocktail extra fun, I love adding a peanut butter + crushed peanut rim! Simply crush peanuts, carefully, on a small plate. Spread peanut butter on the rim of the glass, and then dip into the crushed peanuts.
Substitutions and variations
Chocolate Liqueur. If you don't have chocolate liqueur, you can always substitute it with chocolate syrup or you can substitute it with a coffee liqueur and add a bit of an espresso martini twist to the Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggnog Tini.
Ginger Ale. If you think the old fashioned is sweet enough, you could always top the drink with ginger beer or seltzer water instead!
Pin it for later!
Want more Skrewball cocktails?
Peanut butter lovers, this is for you! Here are a few of my other favorite Skrewball peanut butter whiskey drinks. If you love peanut butter cups, you have to try this Peanut Butter Cup Martini! It's so easy to put together and one of my favorite dessert cocktail recipes. Another peanut butter cocktail that comes together so easily is a classic Skrewball Old Fashioned. Last but not least, you cannot mention Skrewball without mentioning the classic peanut butter and jelly shot! You can also turn this into a peanut butter and jelly cocktail. A childhood favorite turned into an adult beverage, who doesn't love the nostalgia?
