You’ll love this Kit Kat cookies recipe.
It’s such a fun twist on a classic chocolate chip cookie. With the Kit Kat, you still get the chocolatey goodness, but you also get that added crunch of the Kit Kat candy bars.
It’s easy to make. You don't need to be a professional baker to make these amazing cookies, they turn out perfect every single time.
It’s a perfect recipe for any time of year. Whether you need to use leftover Halloween candy or you're just looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, this is a great dessert recipe for any time of year.
Ingredients
Flour. For any baking recipe, you'll find me using all-purpose flour, I don't have a bunch of different flour types in my pantry and I really like how these turn out using AP flour!
Baking Soda. Baking soda is what helps you get the perfect chewy cookie. Baking powder will give you more of a light and airy texture, but I personally like my cookies a bit chewy.
Salt. Salt is essential for any chocolate chip cookie recipe. Just a little bit helps to balance out the sweetness of the candy bar cookies.
Butter. Of course, you'll need butter. I recommend bringing the butter down to room temperature.
Granulated and Brown Sugar. I always use a mix of granulated and brown sugar, but leaning towards more brown sugar. The brown sugar also makes for a chewy cookie, which is what I prefer.
Egg. Eggs are your binding agent in baking, it's like glue that keeps everything together.
Vanilla. Vanilla extract is essential for anything I'm baking, just a splash elevates all the flavors that meld together during the baking process.
Kit Kats. You'll want chunks of Kit Kats for your cookies, but save some for the top of the cookies! Whenever I make cookies with add-ins, I like saving some for the top. It'll look like you got them straight from the bakery.
Chocolate Chips. Are you really going to argue if I recommend adding some additional chocolate chips? My favorite thing is using a mix of semi-sweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips, but since Kit Kats have a milk chocolate coating, I'm going to recommend sticking with just semi-sweet.

Tips for making perfect Kit Kat cookies.
Perfect Chunks. To get the perfectly sized Kit Kat pieces in your cookies, break the candy bar into its individual strips then cut each strip into thirds. Then, add your Kit Kat chunks to your batter. When you mix them in, they'll break down a little more, so you're left with the perfect sizes in your cookies.
Vegetable Oil. Vegetable oil does make for richer and chewier baked goods, but for these cookies, I recommend sticking with butter.

Variations and substitutions
Cocoa Powder. If you want to make these extra chocolatey, you can sub out ¼ cup of flour for ¼ cup of cocoa powder to give yourself a chocolate base cookie.
Swap out the candy. Have another favorite candy bar? Chop that up and put them in these cookies! Crunch bars, M&Ms, and Butterfingers all make for great recipes.
Storing
You can store these in an airtight container, I love Ello food storage. However, if you are not going to eat these right away, you can store the baked cookies in a freezer bag and store them away in your freezer for whenever you're craving them. To reheat, simply take them out of the freezer and let them thaw on the counter, then bake at 275F for 10-15 minutes.
