You’ll love these Boursin stuffed mushrooms
They're easy to make. There is almost no prep required for this easy appetizer recipe! It's so simple and comes together in no time, which is why it's one of my favorite appetizers.
They're delicious. Boursin cheese is seriously SO good! It's a soft, spreadable cheese that comes in a variety of flavors, I love the Garlic & Fine Herbs, Shallot & Chive, or Basil & Chive kind for this recipe.
They're a perfect appetizer. They are the perfect bite-sized appetizer! I bring these to Friendsgiving parties, and everyone always loves them.
Ingredients
Boursin Cheese. Boursin cheese is so delicious, and I like using the Boursin garlic & fine herbs for this recipe! It's so full of flavor you don't have to add any extra seasonings.
Mushrooms. I used Baby Bella mushrooms, and I recommend using them if you make this recipe! Baby Bella mushrooms are more structured than white button mushrooms.
Panko Breadcrumbs. Panko breadcrumbs are bigger than traditional breadcrumbs so they give you a crunchier texture. I recommend using panko versus traditional breadcrumbs.
How to make Bousin stuffed mushrooms
- Preheat your oven to 400F.
- Lightly prep your panko breadcrumbs by toasting them in a medium frying pan over medium heat.
- Wash and prep your mushrooms using a damp cloth to rub off any of the dirt and by taking out the stem so you're left with just the mushroom caps.
- Place your mushroom caps into a large bowl, and set up your assembly station: mushroom caps, Boursin cheese with a spoon, panko breadcrumbs, and a baking sheet.
- Now you stuff! Using a spoonful, stuff each mushroom cap with Boursin cheese and then dip it into your bowl of panko breadcrumbs.
- Place each stuffed mushroom on your baking sheet.
- Repeat until you have no more mushrooms left.
- Bake at 400F for 12-15 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes, and serve immediately.
Making Boursin-stuffed mushrooms ahead of time
If you are bringing these appetizers to a party, like a Thanksgiving dinner, and you want to make these ahead of time, here is how to do it!
- Prep your mushrooms according to the directions above.
- If you need to quickly reheat, place in the oven under high broil for 3-5 minutes.
- If you have more time, set the oven to 400F and let your mushrooms bake for 5-7 minutes.
Substitutions and variations
Fresh Herbs. You can always top with fresh herbs like fresh parsley, fresh thyme, or chives.
Stuffing. If you don't want to waste the mushroom stems, I recommend sauteeing them along with 1 shallot and mixing them into the Boursin cheese and creating a more robust filling. This does require more work, but could be worth it if you have the time!
Pin it for later!
