You'll love this air fryer garlic bread

It's so flavorful. This easy garlic bread recipe manages to be one of the most flavorful side dishes with only a few simple ingredients.

It's easy to make. You'll love making this on repeat with how easy it is!

It's the perfect side dish. Whether you're having a pasta night or just need a quick and easy side dish, this is a great recipe to have in your back pocket.

Can you cook garlic bread in the air fryer? Yes! Air fryer garlic bread gives you the best homemade garlic bread you could ever make.

    Ingredients

French Bread. I like making my homemade garlic bread with French loaf! I feel like it gets that perfect crispy texture on the outside but still has that soft, fluffy center.

Butter. For this recipe, I make homemade garlic butter. It makes your house smell amazing and seriously makes for the BEST homemade air fryer garlic bread.

Garlic. I always recommend using fresh garlic, but if you have minced garlic in a jar, that works, too.

Italian Seasoning. I recommend buying a jar of Italian Seasoning, it'll make any cooking so much easier! If you don't have Italian seasoning, you can use a combination of dried basil and dried oregano.

Parmesan Cheese. Nope, not the freshly grated, although you could use the freshly grated. I use the good ol' Kraft parmesan cheese in a green bottle. This adds the perfect amount of saltiness to the garlic toast with that parmesan flavor.

How to make air fryer garlic bread

This is such an easy side dish to make! You'll never make frozen garlic bread again after trying this.

    1. Slice your French bread lengthwise then slice those halves in thirds. You'll be able to slice them smaller once they're done cooking. Set aside your sliced French bread.
    2. Melt 1 stick of butter over medium heat, and once melted, lower the heat to medium-low.
    3. Add in your 4-5 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Stir occasionally for about 7-10 minutes until your garlic is a light golden brown.
    4. Using a spoon, evenly spread the garlic butter mixture across your French bread slices. It may not seem like enough, but trust me it is the perfect amount!
    5. Take your parmesan cheese and sprinkle it on top of your garlic bread.
    6. Arrange your garlic bread slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might have to make multiple batches.
    7. Cook your bread at 350F for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
    8. Top with some fresh herbs like fresh basil or fresh oregano.
    9. Serve immediately serve your garlic bread so it's nice and hot and toasty!

    Air fryer garlic bread tips

Making the garlic butter. For the best results, take your time cooking your garlic butter! You'll want that fresh garlic to almost caramelize in that melted butter.

Preheating your air fryer. Think of your air fryer like an oven, you want to be sure that you are starting the cooking process with a preheated air fryer. It'll give you the best texture and results with whatever you cook.

What to serve with air fryer garlic bread?

Of course, garlic bread goes great with all your favorite pasta dishes. Some of my personal favorites are tortellini pomodoro, pesto gnocchi, or gnocchi alla vodka.

    Substitutions and variations

Red Pepper Flakes. If you want to add some spice to your buttery garlic bread, feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes to your garlic butter mixture while you're sauteeing it.

Bread. There are so many different types of bread that you can use. You can use Texas Toast, Italian loaf, leftover hamburger or cheeseburger buns or you can even go to Jimmy John's and get a day-old loaf of bread.

Cheese. If you want cheesy garlic bread, add some fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the bread during the last 2-3 minutes of the cooking time.

Garlic Powder. If you don't have fresh garlic for this recipe, you can use garlic powder. I recommend using fresh garlic cloves if you can, but you can still get delicious garlic bread by using powdered garlic. I recommend using 2 tablespoon in this recipe.
