If your TikTok FYP is like mine, you've seen the spicy rosé trend going around. However, we are going to upgrade it a bit to make this spicy rosé margarita. It is such a refreshing rosé wine cocktail!
Well, TikTok made me do it… I’m putting jalapenos in my rosé.
It gives it a really nice hint of spice. If you like spicy cocktails, especially in the summer, you can easily make yourself this by putting a few jalapeno slices into your glass of crisp of rosé It gives it a really nice hint of spice. Let it sit for 20 minutes though to get the spice!
It’s super pretty and photogenic. I mean, who doesn't love capturing a photo of cold rosé, and then adding a few contrasting slices of jalapenos? It is perfection!
Can you put jalapenos in rosé?
You sure can! Now, I am sure this has been a thing far before TikTok, but admittedly, this TikTok spicy rosé is the first time I've heard of that!
What can you add to rosé to make it taste better?
You can add a few things to rosé! Here are some ideas.
- Jalapenos - like this recipe calls for, add jalapenos for a spicy twist.
- Fruit - especially berries or watermelon! Strawberries or raspberries would be perfection.
- Flavored Seltzer Water - this gives it a hint of flavor without sugar.
- Sprite - if you want a little more sweetness, add some Sprite or your favorite lemon-lime pop.
What do you need for this spicy rosé spritzer?
Here's the list of ingredients.
Jalapenos - you can include some or all of the seeds, but I definitely don't recommend taking all the seeds out. You don't get the spice!
Fresh Lime - if you know me, you know I recommend using only fresh lime, none of that lime from concentrate. The flavor cannot be replicated!
Fresh Watermelon Juice - this is super easy to make, just blend up some fresh watermelon, pour it through a fine mesh strainer and you have fresh watermelon juice!
Tequila - what kind of rosé wine margarita would this be without tequila?! I prefer to use silver tequila in my margarita recipes.
Rosé Wine - now for this recipe, I use sparkling rosé from Costco. You can use your favorite rosé, I just like a little bubble in my cocktail!
Here’s how to make this simple rosé cocktail...
- In your glass, muddle together the jalapeno and fresh lime.
- Add in your watermelon juice, ice, tequila, and rosé.
- Give it a stir, garnish and enjoy!
What is the best tequila for cocktails?
I always recommend using Blanco for margarita recipes, especially spicy margaritas. Blanco is not an aged tequila, like Reposado or Añejo, so it allows the flavors of your margarita to be the stars of the show.
You can absolutely use Reposado for margaritas, but you'll get that richer, aged taste. You'll notice that in these photos I used Reposado tequila, and it is delicious! Reposado tequila is aged for anywhere from two months to a year in barrels prior to being bottled. That's where the golden hue and the richer flavor come from.
Añejo is tequila that is aged for anywhere from one to three years and is truly made to be sipped on. So, I would recommend not making a margarita with Añejo tequila, and rather pour it over ice and enjoy it straight.
What is the best affordable rosé?
My two favorites are the sparkling rosé from Costco or the Bear Bros rosé from ALDI. Both are perfect for this rosé margarita
