It pairs perfectly with a body of water like a pool or a lake. I mean, it just tastes like summer, and it is the perfect drink for the summer. 

It’s otherwise known as a spiked Arnold Palmer. You may be thinking to yourself, "Isn't this just a boozy Arnold Palmer?" Yup! It is, they go by either a legendary golfer's name. You'll love this alcoholic version of an Arnold Palmer if you love a good Arnold Palmer. 

Ingredients

Vodka. I use plain vodka, but you can also use citrus vodka or sweet tea-flavored vodka. But if you are using lemonade and iced tea, then I recommend using plain vodka. 

Lemonade. I love Simply Lemonade for store-bought lemonade! You can also make homemade lemonade if you're feeling up for it, too. 

Iced Tea. I use unsweetened iced tea because I prefer not to have super sweet cocktails. If you do, you can always make it with sweetened iced tea. 

How to make this John Daly cocktail

1. In a glass filled with ice, add 2 oz vodka, 2.5 oz iced tea, and 2.5 oz of lemonade.
2. Give it a stir, garnish, and enjoy!

What is the John Daly drink story?

American golfer John Daly is a professional golfer, and aside from being known for how far he could drive a golf ball, he was known for his anti-traditional golf and charismatic personality. Most notably, his infatuation with heavy drinking, hence why when you take a classic Arnold Palmer, sweet tea and lemonade (named after the American professional golfer), and add alcohol to it, it gets the name The John Daly Cocktail. It can other be known as the adult Arnold Palmer or the dirty Arnold Palmer. 

Substitutions and variations

Triple Sec. If you want to, you can add ½ an ounce of triple sec to your John Daly cocktail. 

Sweet Tea Vodka. If you want to turn this 3 ingredient cocktail into a 2 ingredient cocktail by using Deep Eddy's Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade. 

Frozen John Daly Cocktail. Add some ice to a blender and blend it up for a frozen John Daly!

To serve, pour over ice into a Collins glass, a tall glass, garnish with a slice of lemon, and enjoy this refreshing drink. 

In a large pitcher, add 2.5 cups of sweet tea vodka. If you don't have sweet tea vodka, you can simply add 2.5 cups of plain vodka. 

Add in 5 cups of fresh lemonade. If you don't have sweet tea vodka, add in 2.5 cups of lemonade and 2.5 cups of iced tea.
