This easy lasagna recipe with oven-ready lasagna noodles will soon be a favorite cozy dinner recipe! It's so easy to make and is one of my favorite comfort foods.

How to make lasagna with oven-ready lasagna noodles

It's all about the layering when making lasagna!

    1. Start by making your ricotta mixture. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 15 oz. ricotta ¼ cup parmesan cheese and 1-2 tablespoon Italian herb mix.
    2. Get all your ingredients out so you can make a mini "lasagna-making station." You'll need your uncooked lasagna noodles, pasta sauce of choice, ricotta mix, and mozzarella.
    3. Pour about 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
    4. Place around 4 dry pasta sheets at the bottom, or however many fit
    5. Spread 2-3 spoonfuls of your ricotta mixture around
    6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella
    7. Pour about 1 cup of sauce
    8. Repeat 3 times
    9. For the top layer, it'll be noodles, the rest of your sauce, shredded mozzarella
    10. Then, I always like to add some granulated garlic and extra Italian seasoning
    11. Cover with foil, bake at 350 for 45 minutes, then uncover it and bake for another 15 minutes.
    12. If you like the top extra crispy, don't be afraid to throw it under the broiler, on high for 2-4 minutes. BUT, if you do this, keep an eye on it

How do I replace lasagna noodles with oven ready noodles?

You can replace regular noodles with oven-ready noodles, just make sure you have 24 oz. of sauce, and water, depending on your sauce's thickness. Additionally, cover your lasagna with aluminum foil to allow the noodles to steam and cook through.

Tips for working with oven-ready lasagna sheets

Liquid Content. Because the no-boil noodles are cooking when the lasagna is baking, you will need more sauce. If you're using a thicker sauce, like a meat sauce, you'll want to add ½ a cup of water around the edges of the top layer of the lasagna to make sure that your noodles cook thoroughly in the cooking process.

    Best sauce for lasagna

I like using a homemade tomato sauce, otherwise known as marinara sauce, or a homemade vodka sauce. You can also use a bolognese sauce if you like meat in your lasagna recipe, you can make a homemade bolognese with ground beef or ground turkey (if you're trying to make tings lighter.)

    Substitutions and variations

Bechamel Sauce. This is a classic white cream sauce that many people include in their lasagna recipes!

Cottage Cheese. If you want to make this a high-protein lasagna, you can use cottage cheese in place of ricotta.

This easy oven-ready lasagna is one of my favorite lasagna recipes with ricotta cheese! I show you how to make lasagna step-by-step, it's so easy. You can make this homemade lasagna with vodka sauce or you can use your favorite jarred pasta sauces. It's totally up to you! #homemadelasagna #lasagnawithvodkasauce #easyovenreadylasagna by bits and bites

    Storing and reheating leftover lasagna

Store your lasagna in an airtight container. To reheat, cut your lasagna slice into quarters and heat in the microwave for 30 second increments until heated through.

    FAQs

Do you boil oven-ready lasagna noodles?

Nope! That is the beauty of oven-ready lasagna noodles, no cooking required! You will have to use a bit more sauce and/or water (depending on the thickness of the sauce) but more on that below.

Why is my oven-ready lasagna noodles hard?

If your lasagna noodles are too hard, and I'm not talking al dente, it means that you don't have enough moisture when making your lasagna. Either add additional water to your recipe, or you can quickly soak the rigid sheets of oven-ready pasta in a cup of hot water.

Is there a difference between oven ready lasagna noodles and regular lasagna noodles?

Yes! Oven-ready lasagna noodles do not need to be cooked prior to assembling your lasagna. Both types of noodles can be found at grocery stores!
