If you don't already know, I absolutely adore my air fryer. I've been wanting to make easy air fryer donuts for a while now. These air fryer donuts with biscuits and quick, easy and hits the spot when you want homemade donuts.

You'll love these air fryer donuts with biscuits

They're so easy to make. Air fryer biscuit donuts require no bread-making skills! That means you can enjoy homemade donuts in nearly no time.

They're delicious. For a quick and easy homemade donuts, canned biscuits make for delicious flaky donuts. They'd go perfectly with these air fryer cinnamon rolls, brioche French toast bake or they'd make the perfect addition on a brunch board.

these air fryer donuts with biscuits only take 4 minutes to cook. that's it! they are air fryer donuts with no yeast that require no baking or cooking skills. by bits and bites #airfryerdonuts #airfryerdonutswithbiscuits

    Ingredients

I made these with a vanilla glaze, so here's everything you'll need for the air fryer donut recipe plus a glaze.

Canned Biscuit Dough. I am not loyal to any brand in particular, but I do know that you can never go wrong with Pillsbury Grands Biscuits.

Melted Butter. You'll use a pastry brush, or a spoon, to spread melted butter over the biscuits before air frying them. You won't want to miss out on this step otherwise you won't have the best and most delicious air fryer donuts.

Powdered Sugar. You'll need a bit of powdered sugar for the glaze recipe.

Milk or Cream. For the glaze, if you really want to to take things to the next level, I love using vanilla coffee creamer.

Vanilla Extract. Just to add a bit more flavor to the vanilla glaze.

How to make biscuit donuts in the air fryer

    1. Preheat your air fryer to 350. If your air fryer does not have a preheat setting, let it run, empty, at 350F for 3 minutes.
    2. Using a piping tip, a small cooking cutter, a shot glass, a bottle cap, or just a knife, cut a small holes in the middle of the biscuits. Save these to make doughnut holes!
    3. Spray your air fryer basket with oil, and then place your donuts in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may be able to fit anywhere from 2-4 donuts in the air fryer basket at one time.
    4. Cook your donuts at 350F for 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
    5. While the first batch of your donuts are cooking, make your glaze. Whisk together your powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract in a bowl.
    6. Once your donuts are out of the fryer, using a spatula, take them out and put them onto a cookie sheet or cooling rack. IF you use a cooling rack, put parchment paper, aluminum foil or something under it to catch the glaze drippings.
    7. Because these are biscuits, you CANNOT dip them into the glaze like you would a normal donut. These have layers and they will separate. You'll have half the donut in the glaze and half in your hand when you try to pull it out.
    8. Using a spoon, spoon your glaze over each donut. Repeat for the next batch of donuts, and enjoy!
    9. Once your large donuts are done, toss your donut holes in melted butter and air fry at 350F for 3-4 minutes. Then you have both donuts and air fryer donut holes!

    Substitutions and variations

Chocolate Glaze. If you want to make yourself a chocolate glaze to go on these delicious donuts, add a teaspoon or two of cocoa powder to your glaze mix. It's the perfect topping for these air fryer donuts with biscuits.

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts. You can also make a cinnamon sugar mixture by combining cinnamon and brown sugar to coat the donuts in. To coat the donuts, spread hot oil or melted butter on the cooked donuts and then toss them in the cinnamon sugar mix until evenly coated.

What biscuits are good for making donuts?

You can really use any can of biscuits, but Pillsbury is always a reliable brand.

How to store air fryer donuts with biscuits

Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container. You can reheat them in the air fryer at 300F for 2-3 minutes if you want warm donuts with Saturday morning coffee. It's the perfect combination!

    FAQs

Can you air fry donuts instead of deep fry?

Yes! You absolutely can. The hot air circulates in the air fryer making these donuts perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside without having all the oil that comes with a deep fryer.

How do you keep biscuits from sticking in an air fryer?

You'll want to make sure you don't overstuff the basket of your air fryer and you want to spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray.

Does air frying taste like deep-frying?

It does, but it doesn't involve oil like deep frying does!

    Pin it for later!

I wanted to like this recipe but my biscuits came out undercooked. They had to cook for like ten minutes before they were done. Not sure where the 4 minutes came from ):
