You’ll love this white Christmas margarita
It’s delicious. I love the big batch coconut margarita! I have never been a huge fan of coconut, but I am so happy I’m finally coming around to it! It’s so tasty.
It’s a great holiday cocktail. I love that it fuses a tropical yet holiday vibe for your party. Your guests will love this recipe.
It is so simple. With just a few ingredients, this large batch white Christmas margarita comes together in no time.
Ingredients
Tequila. I prefer to use blanco tequila for this recipe, but reposado could add a great warm flavor perfect for winter.
Orange Liqueur. I use triple sec, but you can always use another orange liqueur like Cointreau.
Lime Juice. Fresh is best! Which, yes, is a lot of lime-squeezing for a big batch cocktail like this. If you want to make your life easy, I love using this citrus juicer.
Coconut Milk. I use unsweetened coconut milk, because I like adding sweetness with cream de coconut and light agave syrup.
Cream of Coconut. You can typically find cream de coconut in the “mixers” section of a liquor store! I typically buy this brand.
Light Agave Syrup. If you have light agave or regular agave nectar, you can use that. If not, don’t worry! You can also use honey or maple syrup.
How to make this large batch white Christmas margarita
- In a large pitcher, combine all of your ingredients.
- Whisk well until the coconut milk is combined.
- Once ready to serve, pour into a margarita glass filled with ice.
- Garnish and enjoy!
What’s the difference between coconut milk, coconut cream, coconut water, and cream of coconut?
Coconut Milk. Coconut milk has a milk-like consistency. It’s thick, but still liquid in texture.
Coconut Water. This is the actual liquid that can be found in young, green coconuts and doesn’t have any part of the coconut flesh (the white part) in it. It’s super hydrating and high in nutrients.
Coconut Cream. This is a thicker coconut liquid that’s often used for desserts or to thicken savory dishes.
Cream of Coconut. This is essentially a simple syrup made with coconut milk.
Substitutions and variations
Cranberry or Pomegranate Juice. You can always add a splash of cranberry or pomegranate juice into this recipe, too! If you do, I recommend using ½ a cup of lime juice and 1 - ¾ cup pomegranate or cranberry juice. Be sure you’re using cranberry juice cocktail!
Lemon Juice. If you don’t have limes, you can always use lemon juice, too.
Garnish ideas
- Coconut Rim
- Dried Lime Slice
- Cranberries
- Lime Wheel
How far in advance can I make these?
I recommend making these 2-3 days in advance if you store it in an airtight container. You’ll just have to whisk it once you’re ready to serve.
