It’s perfect for a party. Who doesn’t love a party sangria? Whether you’re having a Halloween party, a fall brunch, or Thanksgiving, you’ll want to put this on the menu for sure.
Ingredients
White Wine. I like to use a dry white wine, like a Pinot Grigio.
Brandy. Brandy is a fermented liquor, typically from wine. It’s fairly warm tasting, so you’ll get notes of vanilla and caramel.
Apple Cider. Grab your favorite bottle of apple cider! I always recommend unfiltered.
Cinnamon Sticks. A few cinnamon sticks add the perfect spice level, and garnish!
Apple Slices. What’s sangria without fruit?! Grab some different types of apples, slice them, and add them to the sangria.
How to make apple cider sangria

If you want a new pitcher, I love this simple glass pitcher!
Substitutions and variations
White Wine. If you don’t love Pinot Grigio, I also recommend a Sauvignon Blanc! You could always use a red wine, too, if you are 100% against white wine.
Caramel Vodka. If you want to put more of a caramel apple twist on things, you can sub out the brandy for caramel apple vodka!
Apple Cider. I always recommend using unfiltered apple cider, but you can always use apple juice in a pinch.
Garnish ideas
- Apple Slices.
- Rosemary Sprigs.
- Cranberries.
FAQs
What are the common mistakes when making sangria?
Using super expensive wine is definitely a mistake! Since you are mixing the wine with other ingredients, you don’t want to waste an expensive bottle of wine in a sangria recipe.
How long should sangria sit before drinking?
Sangria should sit for 30 minutes - 2 hours before serving. Ideally, the time would be anywhere between 2 and 8 hours. Anything longer than that, the fruit gets too mealy.
