This salted caramel espresso martini is one of my favorite ways to make an espresso martini during the holiday season! It's cozy, it's delicious, and it's the perfect way to end a holiday dinner.
You’ll love this salted caramel espresso martini
It's easy to make. This drink is so easy to make, because you're essentially making a traditional espresso martini, but you're just swapping out the plain vodka for caramel-flavored vodka!
It's delicious. I love caramel, and paired with the rich espresso, it's seriously so tasty and one of my favorite dessert cocktails.
It can be made into a batched cocktail! This is a great cocktail to make as a batched drink for guests! I recommend serving this after dinner as a dessert cocktail.
Ingredients
Caramel Vodka. I like using Van Gogh caramel vodka, but you can use whatever brand you prefer! Caramel vodka is very easy to find, so don't worry about that.
Coffee Liqueur. I like using Kahlua in my espresso martinis. Another popular liqueur is Mr. Black. However, Kahlua is just a bit sweeter, which I enjoy.
Irish Cream. Now, I personally love a creamy cocktail when it comes to making my espresso martinis. I also feel like the Irish cream just adds an extra level of flavor, especially paired with caramel.
Fresh Espresso. Fresh espresso really does take your homemade espresso martinis to the next level. I have a Nespresso and I just always have espresso pods on hand to make for espresso martinis.
A Pinch of Salt. It can't be a salted caramel without a pinch of salt!
How to make a salted caramel espresso martini
- Add 2 oz caramel vodka, .5 oz coffee liqueur, .5 oz Irish cream, 1.5 oz fresh espresso, and a pinch of salt in a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for 60 seconds.
- Strain into your favorite martini glass, top with 3 coffee beans, and enjoy!
Substitutions and variations
Espresso. If you don't have an espresso machine, I personally looooove my Nespresso, you can make a batch of strong coffee or use cold brew. Additionally, if you're concerned about caffeine intake, you can always use decaf espresso or coffee.
Irish Cream. If you don't love your espresso martini with an Irish cream like Bailey's, you can omit this. I recommend using 1 oz of coffee liqueur instead. If you do like Irish cream, you can make this even more caramel-ly by using Bailey's Salted Caramel!
Garnish ideas
When you make an espresso martini, you need the three coffee beans! However, using salted caramel syrup to drizzle on the inside of your martini glass also makes for a great addition.
