They're delicious.  Seriously downright delicious, they are the perfect margarita.

Ingredients

Tequila. I find blanco tequila, or silver tequila, to be the best tequila for mixed drinks! It's unaged, so it has notes of citrus, and it's the perfect blank canvas to build your drink off of. It really lets the other flavors shine.

Triple Sec. Triple sec is a must-have ingredient in so many cocktails, including margaritas! It's an orange liqueur, and adds an extra layer of flavor lots of your favorite cocktails like margaritas, lemon drops, or this beergarita

Fresh Lime Juice. Fresh lime juice is of course a must in a margarita recipe! I recommend nothing but fresh lime juice, or just fresh citrus juice in general for any cocktail recipe.

Prosecco. You'll naturally need a bottle of prosecco for prosecco margaritas! I suggest grabbing an inexpensive bottle of prosecco since you're mixing it with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. I am always a fan of Costco's prosecco.

How to make batched prosecco margaritas

  1. In a pitcher, combine tequila, triple sec, and lime juice.
  2. Stir well, and store in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
  3. Once you're ready to serve, add ice cubes to 4 rocks or margarita glasses.
  4. Pour your margarita mixture evenly amongst the 4 glasses, and top with prosecco.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge, and enjoy!

How to salt a rim for margaritas

You may want to have a salted rim for your prosecco margarita cocktail, here's how to do it!

  1. Pour coarse sea salt, or margarita salt, on a small plate.
  2. Take a lime wedge, and rub it around the rim of your glass.
  3. Dip the rim of the glass onto the plate of salt, and rub it around until it's well coated.

Substitutions and variations

Sweetener.  If you like your drinks a little sweeter, you can always add agave syrup or simple syrup!

Lime Juice. If you don't have lime juice, you can use lemon or orange juice.

Triple Sec. You just need any orange liqueur for this recipe! Cointreau is also a popular one.

Fruit. You can always muddle some fresh fruit. I love the idea of making these into strawberry prosecco margaritas.

Champagne. If you want to make these into champagne margaritas, you can use champagne instead of prosecco! Champagne margaritas are so fun if you are looking for a New Year's Eve cocktail.

Tequila. Even though I recommend using blanco tequila, you can always use reposado tequila! Reposado tequila is aged in oak barrels, so it gives it more of a warm, aged flavor.
