You'll love this beergarita
It's easy to make. This is such a fun and easy twist on a classic margarita recipe. These easy beergaritas are the perfect game day drink, in my opinion. They're so easy to make without any bar tools!
It's delicious. I love a good margarita and I also love Corona Light, so putting these two together makes for such a refreshing cocktail.
It's the best of both worlds. This is such a fun drink if you are both a beer and tequila lover! You get the best of both worlds!
Ingredients
Corona. I personally use Corona Light, but you can use whatever beer you prefer! I put some options below that you can use.
Tequila. Of course you need tequila for a margarita recipe. I recommend using blanco, but here's a guide for the different types of tequila.
Triple Sec. Triple sec is an ingredient in any margarita recipe! I recommend always having a bottle stocked on your home bar.
Fresh Lime Juice. Fresh lime juice is a must!
How to make a beergarita
- Take your bottle of Corona, and drink the beer down to the label.
- Using a funnel, or very carefully, add in 1.5 oz of tequila, .5 oz of triple sec and 1 oz of fresh lime juice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge, and cheers!
Tip: you want to very very VERY carefully add in the fresh lime juice! I add it in incredibly slow to avoid having the beer foam up and create a whole mess.
Substitutions and variations
Corona. You don't need Corona Light to make this beergarita. You can use any Mexican beer, like Tecate or Pacifico, or you can use any light beer.
Triple Sec. If you don't have triple sec, you can simply omit that from the recipe, or you can use peach schnapps, or fresh orange juice.
Sweeter Margarita. If you like your beer margaritas on the sweeter side, you can always add a little bit of simple syrup.
Salted Bottle Neck. You can always use fresh lime to wet the edge of the glass and then dab it in coarse salt before opening your bottle of beer.
