If you're looking for a spritz recipe that doesn't have Aperol in it, try this Spritz Bianco! It's sweet, bitter, slightly savory, and a delicious sparkling wine cocktail.
You'll love this Spritz Bianco
It's easy to make. With just 3 ingredients, this cocktail is so easy to make! Even the most entry-level home bartender can create a perfect Spritz Bianco.
It's delicious. This is a lighter twist on a spritz recipe, if you like martinis, this is like a martini spritz.
It's perfect for any time of year. Whether you want a winter spritz cocktail or a sparkling wine drink for those hot summer days, this is perfect for any time of the year.
Ingredients
Prosecco. Prosecco or any dry, sparkling white wine works for this cocktail. If I'm making spritzes, you can catch me stocking up on Costco's Kirkland Prosecco. It's affordable and my favorite prosecco to make drinks with!
Bianco Vermouth or Luxardo Bitter Bianco. Bianco Vermouth, or white vermouth, is what I used to make this Spritz Bianco. You can make this a try Luxardo Bianco Spritz by buying Luxardo Bitter Bianco at your local liquor store.
Soda Water. All spritz cocktails call for soda water! You can use mineral water, too.
How to make a Spritz Bianco
- Fill a wine glass with ice cubes.
- Add 3 ounces of prosecco, 2 ounces of Bianco vermouth, and 1 ounce of soda water.
- Stir, garnish with olives and cheers!
What is a spritz cocktail?
A spritz cocktail has at least three ingredients, one being an aperitif. An aperitif is a group of Italian liqueurs meant to stimulate your appetite before a meal.
What is the difference between Aperol Spritz and Bianco spritz?
An Aperol Spritz uses Aperol, which is an aperitif that has notes of bitter orange. A martini Bianco spritz uses Bianco vermouth, which is lighter than Aperol and still has citrus notes but is lighter and a bit more savory. Think of an Aperol spritz being orange-y and then a Spritz Bianco is like a martini in spritz form. Both have a bitter finish, but in different ways.
What does Spritz Bianco taste like?
You have the bit of sweetness from the prosecco mixed with a little hint of pink grapefruit peel and bitterness from the Bianco vermouth and then the crispness from soda water.
Garnish ideas
I love garnishing a Spritz Bianco with olives! It plays into the semi-savory taste of the Bianco liquor and takes it to the next level. Here are some other ideas.
- Citrus Peel: like a lemon or grapefruit twist
- Rosemary
- Olives: I would stick with traditional, non-stuffed olives for this recipe.
Different spritz cocktail variations
There are so many Spritz cocktail variations that you can try! Here are a few of my favorites.
Chambord Spritz. If you want something sweet, I love making a Chambord spritz! It's especially perfect for Valentine's Day, the color is perfection!
Amalfi Spritz. This is an Aperol Spritz with pineapple juice. Give me this spritz + a pool day.
Lillet Spritz. Lillet is a French fortified wine and this is delicious if you're a fan of dry white wines like Pinot Grigios. It's so crisp and refreshing.
Limoncello Spritz. This, like a Spritz Bianco, is a great spritz recipe year-round. The limoncello + prosecco + soda water combo is delicious.
