So, the video of Emily Mariko making a Salmon Rice Bowl currently has 45 million views on TikTok and it has taken the app by storm. It is so simple, and it is. recipe for leftover salmon, which, I never eat leftover salmon. So, I'm all about this recipe and less food waste.
Plus, she does this trick by placing ice on top of her shredded salmon and rice, placing. a sheet of parchment paper over it and the ice DOESN'T MELT. It just perfectly steams everything under the parchment paper. So genius!
What do you need to make Emily Mariko's Salmon Rice Bowl?
Well, two ingredients are obvious. You'll need salmon and rice to start. In her video, she uses leftover salmon. Today, when I made this viral salmon rice bowl for the first time I used freshly cooked salmon. If you're new around here, you know I love making my salmon in the air fryer. Turns out perfectly every single time.
I also seasoned my salmon with the Trader Joe's Multipurpose Umani Seasoning. Nothing else! No oil or anything.

- Rice, I used brown rice
- Soy Sauce
- Sriracha
- Kewpie Mayo
- Roasted Seaweed
- Avocado
- Kimchi

Here's the steps to making this viral tiktok recipe
- Take your salmon, assuming it's leftover, and shred it onto a plate.
- Take a spoonful of your rice and plop it on top of your shredded salmon.
- Take 1 ice cub and place it in the middle of the rice.
- Take a sheet of parchment paper and place it over the ice, rice and salmon.
- Microwave for 2-3 minutes.
- Take out of the microwave, throw away the parchment paper and ice.
- Mix in your soy sauce, sriracha and mayo.
- Slice half an avocado and place it on the side.
- Make little mini roll-ups using the seaweed and enjoy!
