    Ingredients

Iced Coffee. I used iced coffee Nespresso pods and use my Nespresso machine. You can buy iced coffee from your grocery store, make your own coffee, and allow it to cool, or use this iced coffee maker off Amazon! I prefer strong coffee, so I like using iced coffee pods or making my own iced coffee. The iced vanilla latte Starbucks drink does use espresso, but you can use what you prefer, or have on hand!

Vanilla Syrup. I use homemade vanilla syrup because it is so easy to make with a few simple ingredients! I included directions on how to make the syrup below.

Milk. You can use whatever milk you prefer, the default milk at Starbucks, or any coffee place, is probably going to be whole milk. I included some other milk options below so you can make this iced coffee recipe just how you like it.

How to make homemade vanilla syrup with vanilla extract

It is SO easy to make homemade vanilla simple syrup, and it tastes so much better than store-bought vanilla syrup.

    1. In a small saucepan, add 1 cup of sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1 pinch of salt.
    2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and once boiling, turn the heat down to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Be sure to stir occasionally.
    3. Once all the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoon vanilla extract.
    4. Allow it to cool, and then store it in an airtight glass jar.

    Substitutions and variations

Cold Brew Coffee. There is a difference between iced coffee and cold brew! Iced coffee is simply hot coffee, cooled, and poured over ice. Cold brew is coffee grounds steeped in water for at least 24 hours. Cold brew will give you that stronger coffee flavor.

Instant Coffee. You can also use an instant coffee blend to make your iced coffee! That's an easy way to make this Starbucks iced vanilla latte.

Milk. You can use whatever milk you prefer, whole milk, soy milk, skim milk, almond milk, coconut milk, or whatever plant-based milk you prefer.

Vanilla Coffee Creamer. If you really want that rich vanilla flavor, you can use a vanilla coffee creamer on top of the vanilla syrup. It adds lots of deliciousness to this vanilla iced coffee.

Coffee Ice Cubes. This is one of my favorite ways to add that extra coffee boost to iced coffee recipes! Grab an ice cube tray, pour some coffee, stick the ice tray into the freezer, and make coffee ice cubes. It's a refreshing way to make sure your coffee doesn't get too watered down.
