You'll love this pancake charcuterie board
It's so cute! Whether you're putting this together for Sunday brunch, or any occasion, this is such a cute way to serve pancakes. Plus, I love the twist on a classic charcuterie board.
It's so easy to put together. So easy! Other than making the pancakes, this board comes together so quickly.
It's customizable. Include all of your favorite pancake toppings on this pancake charcuterie board, or you don't have to stop there! You can include all your favorite breakfast foods and really build out a breakfast charcuterie board. Now that's my version of a complete breakfast.
What to include on a pancake charcuterie board
You can really have fun with this pancake breakfast board and include all of your favorite pancake toppings. Here's what I included on this one.
Homemade Pancakes. I made this pancake platter using my copycat McDonald's pancake recipe. It's so easy, and you get such fluffy pancakes that are perfect for this board. You can make them into whatever size you want. I made them into the size of silver dollar pancakes, but you can make them into mini pancakes, too! I don't recommend making them much larger than silver dollar-sized, just so you can make the board easier.
Chocolate Chips. Ok, so you can totally include the chocolate chips in the pancakes when making them, but I opted to include them on the brunch board. Whether you use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, or a combination of both, like I did, use your favorite!
Fresh Fruit. I went the berry route for this board, but you can include any of your favorite fruits like fresh berries, bananas, or apples. I like to include plenty of fresh fruit because I just love how it pairs with the pancakes!
Maple Syrup. This is a must when serving pancakes! I like to get my maple syrup from ALDI or Costco. I find them to have the best quality for the best price.
Best pancake toppings
This depends on your personal preferences! Here's a list of toppings that you can include on the breakfast charcuterie board.
- Peanut Butter
- Breakfast Meats like breakfast sausage or crispy bacon
- Melted Butter
- Marshmallow Fluff
- Jams or Jellies
- Variety of Fruits like berries, bananas or apples
- Maple Syrup (if you want to get real fancy, you can attempt to make homemade syrup!)
How to make this pancake charcuterie board
- If you haven't already, you'll want to make your pancakes, or reheat your pancakes if they are premade.
- Place your pancakes on your board, I like to do one big line down the middle of your large board.
- Place your fruit, breakfast meats, and other toppings around the pancakes.
- Have fun and be creative, and that's it!
Tips for building a pancake board
Small Bowls. You will want small bowls for various toppings like berries, jams, honey, peanut butter, or marshmallow fluff. You'll also want to make sure you have small serving spoons for these as well!
Pancake Griddle. This may be a kitchen accessory that you only use every so often, but I highly recommend purchasing a pancake griddle! You can get cheap ones from Amazon, and you can make so many more pancakes at once rather than if you just make homemade pancakes in a frying pan.
Prep the Cold Items First. Prep your fruit, peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, any other items that can be served cold or at room temperature, first. Next, prep any of the hot items, like bacon, sausage, and, of course, your pancakes. You want to make sure you are serving this and keeping the hot foods hot for as long as possible.
Premake the Pancakes. If you want to do any preparation ahead of time, you can absolutely premake the pancakes, store them in an airtight container in the fridge, and then reheat them when it comes time to make this pancake charcuterie board.
Substitutions and variations
Different Pancakes. You can play around with different pancake recipes to include on this board like classic buttermilk pancakes, lemon ricotta pancakes, or cinnamon pancakes.
Big or Small. You can make this as big or small as you want! I like having a variety of boards in my house, and I have a small wooden board that I always make charcuterie or cheese platters on if it's just going to me and a friend or two. If you want to make a massive spread, I recommend putting parchment paper on your counter or table! It is such a fun way to make a huge breakfast spread.
