This is a low-carb air fryer dinner. Trying to keep it low in carbs but high in flavor? This is totally the low-carb air fryer recipe you want. You can even opt out of the tortilla and make a salad or a brown rice bowl.

Ingredients
With a few simple ingredients, you can make these easy air fryer chicken fajitas in no time!
Bell Peppers. You can use whatever color bell pepper is your favorite, I use a variety of colorful bell peppers to make these as colorful as possible!
Onion. Just a basic yellow, sweet or red onion will work!
Chicken Breast. I prefer making these with thinly sliced skinless chicken breast!
Homemade Fajita Seasoning. Making homemade fajita seasoning is far easier than you think!
Olive Oil. You just need a small bit of olive oil to ensure your fajitas don't stick to the air fryer basket while cooking.
Homemade fajita seasoning
You absolutely do not need to go out and buy seasoning, but I bet you probably have everything you need in your spice cabinet to make your own fajita seasoning! You can multiply this batch so you have homemade fajita seasoning mix in your cabinet whenever you're craving this easy weeknight dinner.
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon chili powder or cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon oil
- ½ lime for fresh lime juice
If you don't have fajita seasoning, don't panic! Taco seasoning is essentially the same thing that you can use.
How to make air fryer chicken fajitas
- Slice your chicken breast, onions and peppers.
- Place into a bowl and pour your fajita spices over everything.
- Mix well. You can marinate everything in the fridge or you can cook it right away.
- Preheat your air fryer to 390F. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, let it run, empty, at 390F for 5 minutes.
- Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil and place your chicken fajita ingredients in a single layer.
- Air fry at 390 for 10 minutes, shake
- Air fry at 390 for another 10 minutes
- Serve + enjoy!
Tip: To ensure the chicken cooks evenly, cooking these fajitas in a single layer is essential!
Note: The cooking time may vary based on your air fryer. To ensure the chicken is cooked all the way through, I recommend using a meat thermometer to make sure your chicken strips are cooked. Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F.

- Take your onion and slice off the non-root end (the root is the hairy side) and give yourself a stable base for step 2.
- Take your onion and slice it in half from root to end, aka have the hairy side up and slice the onion in half right through to the flat end.

- Slice perpendicular to the ends.

If you want to do some preparation, you can slice your chicken into thin strips, place into an airtight container with a little bit of oil and your favorite fajita seasoning, place in the fridge, and let your chicken marinate for a few hours, or overnight.
