  • Add flour and baking powder to mixing bowl and whisk until well combined, only about 15 seconds.
  • To the bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl, add softened butter and both sugars. Beat or mix until mixture is smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add your egg and once fully incorporated add each teaspoon of vanilla. Beat on low until your vanilla is fully combined.
  • Slowly, add in your flour/baking powder mix. I add it in in 4 batches.
  • Once your flour/baking powder is just mixed in, fold in your chocolate chips.
  • Cover with a towel and place in your fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Once your dough has chilled, preheat your oven to 350F° and start to prepare your cookies.
  • Place parchment paper over your cookie sheet and take 4 Nutella balls out of the freezer.
  • Scoop out a spoonful (about 1 tbsp) of dough, create an indent in the middle of your dough, place the frozen Nutella in the middle, and take a half spoonful of dough to place on top. Pinch the sides to make sure the dough ball is closed and roll into a circle using the palms of your hands.
  • Place your 4 dough balls on your parchment paper-lined cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Pull the cookies out of the oven and let them sit for 3 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  • Repeat the above 3 steps until your dough is gone.
