Your regular margarita has the classic combination of tequila, triple sec and lime. A Texas margarita recipe simply adds orange juice to that mix.
Yes! You absolutely can. I do this all the time. It's super easy to substitute for triple sec in a margarita. If you don't have triple sec you can use a splash of orange juice or a squeeze of fresh orange. It adds such a fresh flavor to this citrus margarita recipe.
– In a cocktail shaker, pour in 1.5 oz. of tequila, ¼ orange, ¼ lime and 3 oz. orange juice per cocktail being made. – Add ice into the shaker, shake until visibly frosted. – Strain over ice into you margarita glass. – Garnish with an orange slice and a lime slice.
