I love the classic cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving. Cranberry goes great with many, many things. What I love more than the classic cranberry sauce, is classic recipes with a twist. This one has a spicy twist, and it is delicious. You can eat it simply as a side, as you would with normal cranberry sauce. My ideas for this were to put it on a wheel of brie, wrap the brie in pastry dough, and make a baked brie with it. Last year, I made my baked brie with brown sugar and craisins in the pastry puff. I think the spicy, sweet and creamy flavors would be to die for though. I am making my baked brie on Thanksgiving for an app, so I will post and let you all know how it is!
My mom every year, whenever she makes cranberry sauce, talks about how simple it is to make. It is a mystery why people buy canned sauce, when homemade is so easy to make. Plus homemade tastes so much better! After Thanksgiving, I plan on making a “leftover” sandwich involving this sauce. I told you that this sauce can be much more than a simple side dish.
