Cinnamon Apple + Pear Sangria

Obviously with a new season comes a new batch of cocktails and a new batch of sangria recipes (I did no sangria recipes this summer…. lol) But back to all seriousness, which isn’t serious, my brother and I thoroughly enjoyed this sangria when he was home from school on labor day weekend. One pitcher was totally not enough, and now after thinking about this sangria I want like to go and make some right now.

Between red wine and whiskey, this is not the sweetest cocktail. Don’t get me wrong, it’s sweet and so good, but it’s not similar to all the “caramel apple” sangria’s that you’ll start to see around this time of the year. You can use whatever red wine you like, whether it be a cab or a pinot noir, you do you.

I hit the brainstorm jackpot the other night and just came up with 15 different recipe ideas, so these next few weekends are about to be full of cooking and recipe testing and so many workout classes to balance it all out. Moving back home I joined a gym called Spenga, and it’s 20 minutes of spin 20 minutes of strength then 20 minutes of yoga… ask anyone I talk to… I’m obsessed. So I’ll be doing many Spenga classes to balance out all the recipes.

Cinnamon Apple + Pear Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1/2 cup whiskey
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 pear, chopped
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • club soda

Instructions

  1. in a large pitcher, pour in your chopped apples, pears and cinnamon sticks
  2. pour in your bottle of red wine, whiskey and then top with club soda
  3. let it sit for minimum 3 hours and enjoy!
