A lot of my January was taken up by Netflix. Making a Murderer, Chelsea Does, re-watching Parks and Rec (patting myself on the back for that decision- love that show.)… Needless to say, I didn’t read as much as I had hoped.
I did read what people called a “life-changing” book, which was The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. The method she described in the book, I had already done when I moved home after college. Yes, believe it or not mom and dad- I actually did everything she said in that book without knowing it was her method. When I was half way through, I started skimming the book. Which, I felt like I still got the gist of it. I would recommend this as a “skim” book!
The book I LOVED was #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Sophia started the ever so popular online boutique called Nasty Gal. It takes you from when she was in school, never fitting in, being misdiagnosed by psychologists due to her not fitting into the school system, hitch-hiking her way down the West Coast, starting a little eBay store and then her time at Nasty Gal. Talk about inspiring. I couldn’t get enough of this book. I HIGHLY recommend it.
That’s about it for the January Book Bites- like I said, Netflix had most of my attention this month. The books I have waiting for me in my Kindle Library are The Girl on the Train (finally hopping on that bandwagon), It Was Me All Along and Who Do You Love? Hopefully I’ll read more than those three- but who knows.
Happy reading, everyone!
