I just recently set up a Good Reads account. I currently have roughly 80 books on my “to-read” list…. going through their recommendations is addicting!!! There are so many good books out there. This month, I read a total of three books.
I finally got around to reading “The Girl on the Train”…. I maaaaaay have been detrimental to my sleep cycle for the few days it took me to read it. I didn’t stay up late, but I did find myself finishing the book at around 2 am one night. Then I was too excited to go to sleep. I really did like this book. I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype. In my opinion, it did.
Next, I read “It Was Me All Along” a memoir by Andie Mitchell. I love a good memoir, and that is exactly what this book was. This woman, Andie Mitchell, writes about her life story and her relationship with food. She has a few cookbooks as well as a food turned lifestyle blog. I highly recommend this book!
Being a sucker for memoirs, I read Drew Barrymoore’s “Wildflower” What I liked about this book, as well as Amy Poehler’s “Yes Please”, is the fact that it doesn’t go in order. It is a compilation of short stories as well as letters to her daughters. She takes you from her early days living in West Hollywood to her current days being a mom to two little girls while also being a successful business woman and actor. How she has grown as an individual is amazing.
That’s all for this month’s Book Bites. Look out for my March Book Bites coming the first of April. Who knows how many books will be read. House of Cards Season 4 comes out March 4th.
