Nutella Buttercream Frosting

Nutella Buttercream Frosting
Monday I’m announcing the giveaway I am running! Stay tuned for how to join, what the winner will receive and when the winner will be announce! Now, onto this frosting…

If you didn’t know you need this Nutella frosting in your life, well now you do. It takes my double chocolate chip cupcake to a whole new level. Are you surprised? I mean, Nutella.

Originally I had planned to just make chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and top them with a Cadbury mini egg. I was bringing them for Easter, so you have to be festive… or else it is no fun. However, as I was looking through the cabinet, I realized I had an unopened jar of Nutella- I’ve been meaning to make something else with it, which I will be making soon. You can never have too many Nutella recipes.
Needless to say, this frosting will probably always be going on top of my double chocolate chip cupcakes, that is if I want to do chocolate on chocolate. Seriously, how good does a double chocolate chip cupcake with Nutella frosting sound? Add some chocolate sprinkles and call it a day.
Below you will find the printable recipe for this Nutella frosting. Want my chocolate cupcake recipe? Find it in the link here!
Nutella Buttercream Frosting

  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1/4 c. Nutella
  • 2 tbsp Cream
  • 4 c. Powdered Sugar

  1. Beat your butter until it is light and fluffy. Add in your Nutella, and beat until it is fully mixed together.
  2. Add in your powdered sugar and cream, alternating between the two.
  3. Beat for at least 5 minutes once the sugar and cream are fully incorporated. I've noticed this gives the frosting a light and airy texture.
